Question Help me with tail light dilema

I want to get the 07 base tails for my 04TL,but according to Tim at hondaacuraworld,he thinks I need the new LED boards from the 07(which cost $105 each) to work with the 04's. Does someone know 100% certain if I need the new boards or not. Thanks for any info.

I think gauravp123 ( I think that's his username) did the same thing- put 07 base lights on his 06 TL and he NEEDED to change out the LED's. Try looking up his name and PM him or maybe he will see this thread.

There are technically two different part numbers for LED boards, but I don't think anyone has put the two side by side to see what the differences are, if any. It has been determined that all LED boards are red.

Also, Gaurav did put 07 base lights on his 06; he's a good guy...if you PM him, I'm sure he'll offer any insight he has.

I put 07's in my 06, and you do NOT need to get new LED boards, like I said in my first post.

Guarav is the person that told me

I replaced my 04 tails with 07 type-s tails about 6 months ago. The new tails came with just the plastic cover no lights inside. I took apart my 04 tails to get the light board out and inserted them into the 07 tails. Re-ran the wires and hooked them up and wahlah, installed them with no problem.

You have to remove the bumper and there is a bracket there,

You can remove one side at a time, thats how i did mine.

all the same boards......if u order the LED board for ur car and its 05 when u receive the board on the package it'll say part number is replaced by XXXXXXXXX whatever the part number is with the 07-08 model number....a lot of old electrical parts get superseded quickly.
