Help... I got 3 days left
OK, my dealer offered this once a year "Complimentary Vehicle Inspection"
Includes: A thorough inspection of your Acura's engine, brakes, drivetrain, suspension and steering components and also receive a complimentary car wash!
So my question is this:
this is probably going to be my last inspection under the cars original warranty, so what things should I point out or (wink wink) complain about to make sure I get the most out of it?
Any suggestions on certain parts that tend to go bad, JUST after warranty runs out? I have an 04 with 60K miles
My current checklist is as follows:
3rd gear driveline vibration (i now this is kinda pointless, but oh well)
experiencing hard shifts every once in a long while (last time it was doing this was like 2 weeks ago)
Auto seems slugish when mildly accelerating on freeway
Wheel vibrates at 65-75 even after 2 wheel balances & 2 Alignments in just under 2 months
Nav screen glitches when playing music at high volumes (random lines accross screen)
so there you have it go nuts.
Just so people don't get the wrong idea, my purpose is not to screw the dealership out of time and mney, its just I want to make sure I get as many things fixed or replaced before I venture out into the unknown world without any full waranty coverage.

Wrong forum, but do you have subs? The bass could be the cause of the lines. My friend's 4 10's does that to his screens.
Check the ball joints for the vibrations.
Sluggish acceleration on the highway is solved by going from D5 to D4.
None of us here in the 1G section have a warranty and we're doing just fine.
~Cheers~

uum...Isn't the warranty good for 4 years or 50k miles? If so, you are one year and 10k expired. I would think your TL is already out of warranty unless you have some sort of unique arrangement. In my opinion "complimentary" anythings offered by the dealer are just their way of getting you to come in so we can look at your car and tell you what's wrong with it so they can charge you an exhorbitant amount for repairs. But if it give you peace of mind to do it, go ahead.

Yes, thats true for the original owner, but I bought mine ACURA CERTIFIED a year ago this June. So the CERTIFIED warranty gave me 12 months full coverage & 100K motor & powertrain.

If an '04, better check the in service date as the 5 years are probably gone unless it was purchased late in the model year.
Didn't know about this with a certified car. Thanks for the info and in that case, I would have them do the inspection. You can always turn down any work they want to charge you for.
Don't know who you spoke to but if it's the Acura Care Car warranty, the 12/12 starts after the factory warranty 4/50 ends, therefore total 5/62. The powertrain warranty is 7/100K.

Powertrain is just another word for the drivetrain, engine /trans. If you have the extended warranty then it’s good for 7 years 100K, starting when the car was first placed in service when new. If the vehicle is within these limits it will be covered. If still under the factory warranty, the limits are 4 years 50K.
free inspections are designed to find work they can charge you for!
Brakes are low- ps fluid needs flush- brake fluid needs flush---sure that is all normal- so DIY it!
They are NOT `looking` for warranty type claims! (speak to the service manager so the tech does look it over they way you ask)
You have to make a formal complaint on items if you expect it to be found and possibly covered warranty part

I know exactly what your talkin bout, I just dont want hem to have excuses if I ever have a major issue, like the infamous 04 tranny problems. I took her in this morning & now I will wait. Anything minor that I can do myself, I will.
