Help - Difference Between 04-06 & 07-08 Auto Trans?

I searched and could not find any specific information on this. What is the difference between the 04-06 and 07-08 Auto Transmission? A search reveals that they are not identical, but are they interchangeable with some minor modifications?

I'm looking to buy a '07 TL that has been rear ended mainly for the interior which is really nice, but the engine and transmission are also good. I'm wondering if I should pick up the car and keep the drivetrain or sell it off. I would LOVE to be able to use the transmission as my 2005 TL has 178k miles.

If anyone could help me with this I would appreciate it!

The transmissions are not interchangeable. Why? In 2007 the shape of the interface between the engine and the transmission changed. One will not bolt up to the other.

Sorry.

If you have 04-06 model, you can swap it with 06-07 Honda Accord V6 AT its a direct bolt on and you have to swap over the transmission range switch, its much more reliable than 04-06 AT came in the TL.

If you can't find anything then you haven't looked very hard.
