Hello, i think im hooked!

Hello everyone, new guy here just looking for a place to get answers and share knowlege before i pull the trigger on a TL im considering. Been trolling around the site and i must say i am impressed with Acurazine. Im rather excited about expanding my knowledge on the TL.
i do have a dilemma that im hoping to get insight on. i wonder should i buy a TL with higher milage to get the cheaper price? (really not scared of milage on these cars) or should i pay more and get the Navigation/higher milage? or the third option, no Nav plus relatively low miles.

What would you do knowing what you know now about these cars?

What mileage is the 'high mileage' are you talking about? But, I would go for Navi either way... imo

Just wanted to throw a shout out as well to Acurazine. I just bought a 4-runner and the 4-runner forums that I've found don't hold a candle to Acurazine. Anyone know of any good 4-runner forums?

welcome! what're you planning on using the car for? daily driver? Personally, I'd op for the navi TL - it's always useful to have around, plus you have other options that aren't available on the non-navi TLs.

ok so maybe this will sway it. I am porbably the most useless at directions when driving . by high mileage im talking in the 80k range, and personally i really like the look of the Nav. (is it that obvious which way im leaning?)

Yes, Navi also comes with features like voice control, bluethooth, etc. And 80K miles should be around $15-16K or so...

go with a TL with navi, I hardly use the navi function, but the trip computer, audio screen and other functions it does are worth it. As well you have the wow factor, it looks better plus it comes with better tires.

Coming from an 04 TSX wo/Navi to a 08 TL-s with Navi, there is no comparison. Navi FTW! I had almost 80K no the TSX and it was still like new. These cars really last............

I would think a little less. I just paid 13K for my 04 with 64K A-Spec, no Navi.

We bought on 04 Sport V8, it's a sweet rig, it's not the TL but it's pretty sweet and will be a much better driver in the snow! I'm on T4R.org as well, it's good, just not as good as Acurazine

Anyone who thinks navi is more important than a lower mileage and better maintained car is retarded. That navi will do you little good when you are shelling out thousands of dollars for expensive repairs. When I bought my used 04 TL I looked at all the TLs for sale in my town and I could've gotten one with navi for less than I paid for my non-navi but it had much higher mileage and looked a bit beaten up. Find a well-maintained car first, then worry about things like navi.

Honestly, I would never buy a TL again. I am not going to say why, to avoid flames from avid fans on this forum, but Honda gave me enough reasons to believe that their relability and quality is as much of a myth as an UFO is.

My 2006 Acura non navi has bluetooth. Is it different for different years?

I've found that I like the non navi, mostly because I have a nice flat space to put my mount for my phone (and gps if I wanted to). You also don't need to stretch the power cables too far either!

There's really no info you're missing out on the non navi console. The dash is kinda high so putting a windshield mount gets in the way of vision. Putting it on the control console puts it out of the way and really easy to reach to manage the phone if needed.

As has been pointed out, the Nav in 3G TL's is linked with your Bluetooth, your sound system, and your HVAC system. Navigational systems on vehicles is becoming a more and more sought after option/feature, so getting a TL with one is not a loosing thing. You will get your money back when the time comes to sell the car. You can bet the question will be asked, "Does it have Nav?".

When I bought my '04 TL, I didn't want the Nav. Not because it was an additional $2000, but because I didn't seen the necessity of it. While it certainly isn't a necessity, it is one heck of a great feature and I am so glad I got it. It is on both of my 3G TL's. What I find most useful on a day to day basis is using it for anticipated travel and road names. But I can't tell you how many times I have used it for other things.
