Heater doesn't work

When I bought my TL in Feburary, the first time I rolled down the right rear window it would not come back up. Had to have a new window motor.

Now I found out the heater doesn't work. Service manager asked me if this problem just started and I told him I don't know. Don't normally use the heater in the summer. It does get a little warm if you set the temp on 90.

Also, the drivers side window makes a screeching noise when raised and lowered.

I traded a 2000 TL and it was never back to the dealer with a problem. Probably should have kept it. My nearest Acura dealer is a 2.5 hour drive (one way), so it is very inconvienent.

I've owned many Fords, a few Chevrolets and Chryslers, and have never had this many problems. At least there are local dealers for these brands.

Sorry to hear that. Wish your dealer would take care of them in the one trip. Make a call to them and make sure they have all the necessary supply if possible.

window screeching is due to the fresh rubber on the window wipes, normal, and you can rid that by installing moleskin.

my 04' TL had the ignition solenoid blow out which prevented me from removing the key. it took dealer 5 days to get it fixed and 6 interior panels/parts replaced because service guys kept scratching/damaging parts.

and don't forget, 3G TL is a new build, expect annoyance items like such (they're not the norm, but shit happens).

My heater works, but it does not put enough heat down by your feet even if you only have it directed down....

What did they find was the problem? I just picked up my new TL Friday, and no heat. They adjusted some motor gear on drivers side control, and made it slightly better, but still now heat, so I'm taking it back for service next week.

I've found that unless I set the temperature to the highest setting, very little heat comes out of the top vents. I could sometimes drive around with the temp set at 80 and I would feel cold air come out of the top vents.

For a couple of days, I drove around with a digital thermometer and despite the cool air coming from the vents, the cabin was at the displayed temperature. It seems to me that to keep the noise down, the fan works very slowly and for some reason cool air comes out of the top vents unless it is really cranked up.

With the MDX I can quickly heat my feet and hands at 5:30AM at 80 degrees and then I have to change the temp to about 74 degrees to keep from getting too hot.
With the TL I can set it at 85 and drive all morning without getting too hot. At "HI" it behaves like the MDX (+really loud) and eventually I'll have to lower the temperature.

I've also had problems with the rear defroster not working. The dealer found some error codes, reset everything and then it started working. Doesn't seem to work as fast as the MDX but then again the MDX slogan is "Defeat winter".

My heat works extremely well. Had it set top and bottom this morning and had to dial it back to 65 after less than 1 mile 'cause it was too damn hot.

For those having issues with top vent, are you leaving it in Auto or manually switching mode to include the top vent?

This is surprising, for me my heat works too well... I have to turn it down to 65 at times because it gets so hot in my car, and this is in the middle of winter!

My heat (heater) is working ok as well. Once my engine temp hits the 1/3 of gauge, the heat is blowing out firmly.

Wish those who have issues with heat could get them fixed soon.

From Auto, I would press the mode button until the top and floor vents are selected. My car is parked in the garage. If it was really cold outside, warm air would usually come out after driving a few blocks. After about 30 minutes, I park outside (6AM) and at 8AM when I start the car cool air would come out even if the Temp is set to 80 and stay that way even if the engine temp is mid gauge.

I did mention this to the dealer when I brought it in to fix the defroster but they couldn't find any problems.

I also had the outside temperature reading problem (---) for a few weeks but after not driving the TL for 5 days, the battery died and after recharging the temperature reads OK now. Weird. The next time I go to the dealer I'll have them look at the battery.

Update - I took it back, and they fixed it today. They adjusted the "heater valve cable" Heat is good in the winter!
