Post Headlight

Hi guys.
Im thinking replacing my OEM stock HID healight bulb to 55W 6000K bi xenon and I just saw some page showing specs of Acura TL 2006 and i realized that size of low beam and high beam bulbs are different. 9006 for low beam, D2S for high beam.
As long as I know, there should be one HID for low and high on TL 06.

Which one should I get and what is deference between xenon and Bi xenon?
Can i use Bi xenon on my TL 06?
and which size of HID bulb should I get???

the low beam is the high beam its how the bi xenons work. 9006 is the bulb size for the fogs.

If I recall using a 55w will melt the housing.

Yes you are correct, the D2S is the HID size you need.

The fogs are 9006 the turn signals are 7443

I do not believe there are 9005/hb3

ohh, I get it.

I thought Xenon and Bi xenon are completely different HID like. like, BI xenon sounds like HID combined with two color Xenon. lol
Sorry that was just my feeling.

Now im getting Morimoto HID 55W 6oooK .

As long as the bulb is a d2s it will work. There is a shroud inside the headlight that controls low and high beam. The bulb does not switch over or get brighter.

Ok, thank you Legi.

anyone what do you think about replacing 35W to 55W??
I have seen some threads talking about wattage, and this is my final result
"swapping to 55W from 35W hurt HID lifespan but 20% intensity, and 55W does not burn anything"

what do you say all???

Combining 35w bulbs with 50w ballasts is going to cut your bulb life span in half. Stay with OEM. Aftermarket ballasts don't fit under your headlight, so you will have an open hole there. with the aftermarket ballasts you're going to have to rewire the OEM harness to work with you aftermarket ballasts. With the higher wattage you're running the risk of burning the bowls of the projectors, some have done it succesfully, and some have had burning issues.. IMO stay with 35w ballasts and bulbs.

why make it harder on yourself?

just get the d2s 35 watt 5000k bulbs and be done with it.
this option is completely plug and play.

the other way with the 55w is a lot harder! and it doesnt seem as if you know how to wire up stuff...so just go with the plug and play option

Thank you for your advice!!

I feel like going with Morimoto 35W 5000K with 35W ballast. What do you think??

I'm sorry for being stubborn, but I saw old post saying swapping 35W to 55W is not problems
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/55w-hids-845266/

I want to get 55W but if I have to make a hole in headlight or end up burning something, I would go 35W....

If you're getting the 3500k 35w bulbs, you won't need another ballast.

ONLY buy the bulbs. Nothing else.

geting 55w is def not worth it, y risk destroying ure headlight wen 35w works perfectly and is gaurenteed not to wreck ure housing or ballast.

Considering both are 35W, I don't know why the Osram ballast would be any brighter than the stock one.

Seriously, just order the bulbs and nothing else. There's no reason to even look at anything else.

a new ballast would only make ure bulb brighter if its going bad or defective. so if its fine just get a bulb and plug and play.

Search..... Those bulbs have been around for a good while now and a good number of people here on AZine have them installed. If you search on AZine you'll see plenty of pics showing the light output.

Honestly I haven't seen them in person but I still doubt it would be enough to make me want to pay $185 + shipping for some damn bulbs. You can say "you get what you pay for" but I would much rather get moris 35w or phillips 85122+ before ever buying osram CBI.

HIDs color shift only when first struck and at the end of their life, otherwise it's minimal brand new or not. 5k will be 5k give or take a couple hundred, they're not all exactly 5k.

Hey guys!!
I'm sorry for the late reply.
well....thats what I paid for....got a free shipping code so all i paid was 186.......
still expensive but I figured out that those bulbs are the one porche use as a stock bulb so I hope I will get what I paid for.

My HID bulb was not getting darker, but HID color was had been changed to lower kelvin color...thats why I thought I got darker.

I think bulb got burn after 7 years of purchase?....
