Headlight
got my bulbs and i got my oem ones out i just cant get the dam things in. wen ure putting the connector back on, do the tensioners go on first. and wen u put the connector in does it go in sideways then turned straight?
Bulb goes in first. You have to definitely make sure the marking line up with the bulb holders otherwise your output is going to look like crap. On top of the base of the bulb, you will notices one rectangular notch and one half moon notch. The rectangular notch goes at 12 O'clock, and the half moon notch goes at about 1 O'clock. Once the bulb is in seated correctly then you close the bulb holder prongs. Next you will see a ground wire coming off the bulb ignitor, that gets plugged in on top of the bulb entry, you will see a little prong it slips onto. Finally you are going to put the igniter on the base of the bulb, the top of the ignitor will slip on at about 10 or 11 O'clock, you will feel it seat onto the bulb and twist it clockwise and it should sit at 12 O'clock.

^^ i had a retard moment i was putting th bulb in the connector first and the tensioners were geting in my way. i got my passenger side in, tn ima see if they look good then ill continue wit the drivers.the drivers side is way tight for the torx screw and im geting angry lol.
CBI Osram HID looked like I have to work on swapping Stock lens to ZKW as well....so I just ordered one pair.
And I planning to take off the front bumper to out ZKW in and I think I would want to black out the headlight as well. HOWEVER, one thing came up in my mind, if i painted inside of headlight black just like other guys do, my headlight will be darker??
headlights use reflection to shine light, right??

A Quick pic of my CBI's, with only like 15 mins on them. ^^ and no our lights dont use reflectors, they are projectors. so blacking out is fine. only the crappy halogen headlights use reflection.

Our headlights DO not use reflections to shine the light forward, that's why we have a projector, the glass focuses the light.
To do the ZKW-R swap, you're going to have to take the headlights off the car and bake them to pull them apart, there is no other way of swapping the lens out.
If you paint the whole housing black on the car, not sure about 06 but you cannot paint the reflector for the fog light black, your fog light output will be diminished. Same thing goes for the turn signal reflector. The headlight will NOT suffer tho.

I'm kind of slow leaner.
I replaced Osram CBI bulb couple of days a go and I realized that It did not change much of an brightness comparing to my old bulb.
I guess my ballast is dying, cua its been used 7 years...
So ballast used for 7 years, do you think should i replace ballast as well??

You're not going to notice a difference in brightness. They're like 200 lumens brighter
hardly even noticeable.
I recommend you get in contact with our Vendor JnC.
He is our resident headlight modder. For a fee, he will take your headlights and modify them to you liking, including swapping then lens to the ZKW-R. The lens swap will make the most difference in your lights, the "cutoff" is very sharp, unlike the stock lens, which is blurry. The "cutoff" you seem to be lost on, is how the light shines onto the road. It is most noticeable up against a wall where you can see the light stopping at a very fine point, the light is less scattered.
Again, I HIGHLY recommend you let him mess with your lights. It's quite apparent you're lost, sorry to say, but JnC will take great care out you.
Here is his profile: https://acurazine.com/forums/members/jnc-26894/
You can send him a Private Message (also known as a "PM") and discuss what you'd like done.

is a thread of members' headlights he's worked on.
He does excellent work as you can tell and can modify them to almost anything you want.

Here is an excellent example of sharp cutoff given by the ZKW-R swap.

And here is an example of the cutoff your stock projector gives off, looks like crap.

Here is a close-up of the ZDW-R lens...

Recap:

Picture 2: OEM lens

It seems like you are really doing your research but just not able to completely understand it. If your now looking to get a sharper cutoff id suggest you have one of our venders do the work for you. (JnC or AcktL05) I mean if you can spend $185 on bulbs, you can spend the money to have it done from those two vendors who do it routinely. Just saying would make things a lot easier on you. Good luck with which ever route you go.
ive had my cbis in for the same ammount of time as op, and can say they are getting whiter and whiter each day
also, that pic that shows the stock cutoff, my headlights rely do look like crap. all mis aimed and shit lmao
