Best Feature Discovered

Well i dont know if it is a feature, but maybe just in my car, I was in sunset park heading to work and i was bored. Playing around with the steering wheel, i find that there are two holes...one by the igniton and one below the turn signal indicator. I was able to fit both of my fingers in there and rotate it around...felt really good lmaooo....watch check it out||!!

That's the access holes to reach the torx bolts to unbolt the airbag from the column support.

Well WHAT do you know, I had it on max and she told me to turn on "Sunrise Valley" instead of "The Road"!!! I can honestly say it was unexpected and at the time I heard it I almost ran into a ditch with joy!!!

It was kinda funny because I felt as if my child had just uttered her first word (and I don't even have a child). In closing though it's not the cleanest text to speech but it's better than nothing and with the car reading everything else to me all the time it just makes since for it to tell me what street to turn on next!!!!

I'm SUPER EXCITED NOW!! I think i can begin to forgive the complexity of using the nav now...
wow did not know that...great thanks!

I looked through much of this thread and didn't see this one:

When viewing large lists of items on the Nav screen, you can use the Zoom-out button to page-down the list and the Zoom-in button to page-up the list. Much faster than using the joy-stick. This works on our 05 Pilot and probably works on the TSX too.

He means that both sun visors can be moved on their holders about 5 to 6 inches. I found this out over a year after I bought my '04. Then I poured through the owner's manual trying to find a reference to this "feature" but couldn't locate one.

They can be extended to block sun from hitting your face on the side.

I'm gonna have to go back over this thread and read the earlier postings because there are some great little tidbits here. So many things that are not mentioned in the owner's manual are included as little features in our cars.

Search and didn't find this one... I have a 05' TL

Open the windows and sun roof with the key fob. You slowly double click the unlock button, but hold it down on the second click. You cannot close the windows though (Or haven't found out yet) The manual explains it better, look under window.

Minor warning, do not out this feature in the rain. Luckly the car was in my covered parking space. You can use the key and do the same thing.

Here's one I found and posted a while back in the Audio/Bluetooth sub-forum. I'll repost it here for posterity:

On some telephones, pressing the SPEAKER button on the phone will transfer the call to the car's bluetooth connection. Press SPEAKER again, the call transfers back to the phone.

Useful when you dial a contact from the phone, but want to use the hands-free. Using te phone, just dial the number, wait until it starts ringing, then press SPEAKER and the call will transfer.

The KP module allows you to close them with a double click as well. Search around the forums

Not sure if this little feature has been noted or not. For those who have Navi, this applies.

When displaying your map screen, press the compass icon at the top left of the screen. The map reverts to a north-oriented display. Press it again and it toggles back to the default display setting. My wife likes this little feature when we are on vacation.

It' probably in the manual but if you try driving with the hand brake engaged, it will start beeping.

^ and smoking, and slowing you down.....if those two factors won't alert you, the beeping will be just a serenade, lol.

Radio's power-on knob is redundant??

The audio source "select" buttons will turn on the audio to the source if the radio was turned off.
I pressed the AM/FM select button while the radio was off- and the radio turned on. I then tried this with the XM select button- XM radio came on although the radio had been turned off. I assume the CD/DVD select button works this way as well.

The sun roof tilts if you push the button directly upward.

Some how the side rear view mirror will tilt down. Haven't fully figured this one out yet since i've only had my car a few days and haven't driven much, but supposedly there is a way to choose one of the two mirrors to tilt while in reverse.

The bluetooth just plain ROCKS in all ways!!!

The slider switch you use to select which side mirror to adjust with the side mirror adjustment rocker switch determines which side mirror tlits down when you put the car in reverse.

Did a little more searching on the forums and saw someone say the switch needs to NOT be in the middle. Sweet, going to try this now

what is the purpose of the tilt up feature on the sunroof. It doesn't vent heat. I can't feel air come in. I guess when I park in the sun I can leave it open to let heat escape.

It lets a small amount of air in, equiv of cracking a window, you feel it blowing down on your legs.

It goes back to the old physics days... high pressure always goes to low. That's why the really cool guys with cars that had those massive hood scoops (wink wink) would suck air into the engine even when facing the car.

That's the extent of listening to my physics prof.

Damn smartass NY'rs!!

Also when you start your car with the hand brake on, the DRL's are off until you relase the handbrake.

Heat rises so how would it not vent any heat? It is completely functional

Let's Make A Comprehensive List.

Guys, this thread is so cool !!! I've read all the pages very carefully. But I forget some of the things I want to try when I get to my car. Is there any way to post a comprehensive list to reference and add on to....plus indicate which year's cars these work on?

The reason I say that is because I tried the mute option in my 2007 TL Type S and it didn't work. But the side mirrors tilting down DID work. So if that could be done and post the year in which the option works, I think it would be a very cool deal. Then, as we find new things, we could add on to it.

Maybe a Microsoft Word document of some kind.....

Didn't see this one on here yet but under your keyless memory settings you can program your TL to automatically lock the doors once you shift from park or reach 10 miles per hour, as well as to unlock the drivers door or all doors once you shift to park. Normally your car will unlock just the drivers door with 1 press of the unlock button and 2nd press will unlock the remaining doors, you can program the car to unlock all doors with ONE press of the unlock button on your remote. Hope this helps...

One of my favorite features is the auto off headlights, this comes in handy a night/illuminates my driveway, I can get out of my car and press the lock button once, this will immediately lock the car, but the headlights will remain on until I get to my door at which point I would press the lock button again, the car will chirp and my headlights will be turned off. Sweeet.

Anyway, I don't know if this applies or not, but when someone in my car annoys the shit out of me, I press the voice command and say 'passenger eject' or 'mute passenger'. The car usualy responds with 'tape eject' or 'show restaurants'

On a serious note, I leaned on my arm rest while reaching around the to grab some stuff a few weeks ago, and the arm rest slid forward. Didnt know about that.

Found this the other day.. In my 2008 TL, I was playing CD #4 and wanted to fast-forward the song, so I tried to do it via the steering wheel by holding down the ch+ button and to my suprise it switched to the next CD.. I confirmed this by holding down the ch- button and it switched to the previous CD..

EVERYTHING in this thread is expalined in the owners manuals. WTF? If you can read this why cant you read the owners manuals? What a fabulous site with fabulous members, but all clogged up with idiotic questions and banter. Makes it painfull to visit.

Sleeper...dude, what's up with your posting? You've been a member starting just this month, you've written only 4 posts and you're already being pretty harsh here. You posted this afternoon and NO ONE has posted since...it's been 8 hours since anyone else has written since you posted. Please...everyone is just having alittle fun. You don't need to come down so harshly.

I think your posting was uncalled for and if you're so smart and apparently don't mind reading your owners manual then I suggest you go do that instead of visiting our site. Anyone agree?

The Mute of pressing the down button twice didn't work in my 2008... It does work when I press the phone button, but then my system wants me to make a call with my bluetooth paired phone.
