damn call out the blood hounds and hunt that sucker down. seriously sorry to hear that but i don't think its worth the insurance claim as sad as it is. what is your deductible 500 or 1000? a respray of the bumper would be about 500 give or take. so you will be paying anways. is it just a dent? cause they you can try dent removers. i have used them before and they work great.

There's crease bubbling out of the bumper now. I don't think it can be taken out since the bumper is plastic.

I wouldn't even if you deductible is low (100 or 250) it would be better to pay out of pocket so your rates don't go up.

I'm wondering if you can buy the rear bumper like you can buy the body kit?

Yes. TLover...while I feel your pain, www.acuraautomotiveparts.org has the rear bumper cover for 232.50...list is $270. That's not too bad. In the item listing the RR cover is "2" or "002" in the parts list.

Item "325276" Illus part# 002 qty 1 Disc: FACE, RR. BUMPER (DOT) List 270.35 Our Price 232.50

232.50 is not painted right? cause you would probably have to add another 3 bills to paint the thing.

Now I'm assuming they're molded in color as the body kit parts are. If they aren't (as there doesn't seem to be a different part numbers which would indicate different colors available) it may just come in that eggshell white plastic color and need to be painted to match. Since your car is new, any paint shop should be able to match it and if it's anything like the front bumper cover, you can put it on yourself no sweat.

I wouldn't think it would be that expensive since you can just give the paintshop the cover (no masking, almost no prep).

I don't think it is painted, so you will have to add the cost of painting, probably around $400. Can yours be repaired and painted for less?

After I sent this I saw all the replies above. Anyway, good luck and I feel bad for you.

Damn, that sucks! Probably range from 200-300 for a paint repair to around $700 if the bumper cover needs to be replaced. That's my best guess, anyway.

Great point. Doing it this way would save you a bundle...and almost no downtime for your car.

TLover, sorry to know that. I think the body kit would be cheaper than this. Take this as an opportunity to get it install.

I know a place that can probably do it for a reasonable price. I'll probably wait a bit before I do it (got too many other things going on right now money-wise), but I'll report back to let you guys know how it goes and how much it ended up costing me since I can imagine this type of thing happening to someone else.

After looking at the parts page...it not painted. If you go farther down the page, they have the plugs for the front license plate holes. While they don't show colors (which is a pisser 'cause I need them in NBP), they are listed on there like 8 times. I'm assuming this is because the plugs are available already colored and each listing is for one particular color.

So I don't think the bumber covers comes painted.

This place has it for $216. I didn't think dealer parts departments would list parts like this.

With all the new dBases being computer rather than microfiche based, it's easy for dealers to put their entire catalogs online.

you would think that helps but somehow it never works out. shopping carts still find their way all the way across the lot to hit your brand new ride.

And don't forget the boneheads who insist on parking next to you anyway even though you've made it clear you want to be far, far away from other cars. I would guess that half those people are stupid and the other half are mean.

idiots

I agree. I park as far out as I can and against a curb or something so one side can be protected. What happens some idiot comes up and parks three inches from you despite the fact there are 50 parking spaces between you and the next car over. This happens even when the other car is an old truck or something. I don't get it. Just morons who don't care about other's things. My driver's side mirroe got all scraped up this way despite the fact there were tons of other parking spaces. Bottom line is some people just don't care about other people's property.

If you got police report... then I dont think you have to pay deductible... and nor will your insurance go up... thats how my farmer's agent explained me!

Good Luck

I didn't make a report becaue I was able to wax it out and use a little touch up paint to fix it but I would have if it were worse. Just annoys me why people do that sort of thing and just think it's okay.

Body kit won't cover it. The crease is near where the trunk lid meets the bumper if you draw a line straight down from the "TL" emblem.
