Groupbuy: 20 Led Turn Signals For Those With Blacked/cleared Headlights
Okay, so the manufacturer of these is willing to make this bulb in 7443 for our car. I need to find out who wants these too so I can give him an approximate number. I'll work with him on lowering the price if alot of people are interested.
The 20 LED bulb glows SUPERWHITE when the Parking lights are on and flashes an ORANGE when the blinker is on.

THE OFFICIAL GROUP BUY RULES
It is all right for you to run this feeler thread and find out how many people will be interested in this.
You should contact the vendor and find out how many people he would need in order to establish prices and specifications.
When you reach that minimum, you can let him know and he would have to contact astroboy by email at robb(at)acurazine(dot)com to make arrangements to become a vendor and post in the Sponsored Sales & Group Buys forum.
That would start the ball rolling, and each interested member could visit the Sponsored Sales & Group Buys forum to arrange for purchase and delivery.
We would appreciate it if you would not attempt to circumvent these procedures, since they are designed both for your protection and to provide revenue to this forum so it can continue to serve all the members.

Hey everyone. I asked him about pricing and will post it here. Expect around $20 each. These are plug and play. The only reason you need a load resistor is to prevent the turn signal blinking faster than normal. Also, I haven't seen any comparable products on ebay?

Yes, you'll need a resistor to prevent the light conroller from thinking the bulb is blown and giving you the dreaded "hyper flasher".
I'm in... but I would want yellow running lights AND turn signals. If you clear your lenses you'll need the yellow to pass inspection in VA.
I'd reccomend they be yellow on all set sold so the buyer has the option to clear lenses later without having to buy new LEDs. Yellow LEDs behind a yellow lens will have great brightness.
I also would like a set of 7440 LEDs (7440 are single element) for the rear.

Okay, here's an update. Which one do you guys like better between these two styles. We can only get one manufactured. It will still glow superwhite and blink amber but its a different looking bulb. They both have LEDs firing forward and several LEDs firing to the side.
$15.99 for this one (15LED)
$23.99 for this one (16LED)

Okay, so now we know the deal. Let's get an estimate headcount. Post here and say "Put me down for ___ bulbs." and I'll start a headcount so I can tell the vendor an approximate to make. The bulbs will take about 30-60 days to be in stock. MODERATORS: I will have the vendor contact you so we can start an official GROUPBUY in that forum.

I'll probably get 2 if they are ready by the time I'm in the market for some new turning signals around the time I get my headlights blacked out. I don't care about having resistors ... I like the fast blinks.
It is a little "hot" (and by that I mean it's kinda asking for cops attention) by having it white all the time, but I guess that might be legal because the actual turning signal still blinks orange?

It is kind of like the front plate debate... supposed to have it in VA but some people leave it off....

With regards to legality, it varies state by state. Our laws (NC) specifically say you can have a white (or amber) blinker in the front, and there are no requirements regarding reflectors on passenger cars. However, from what I've seen posted here, most states are more strict than that. You will need to check your state's general statutes to know what you technically can and can't do.

It looks to me that the 16 LED will give a better light output (on the sides) than the 15 LED due to the orientation of the lights. The 15 LED has one ring of circular LEDs near the top, whereas the 16 LED has two bands of 4 LEDs each.
16 LED construction looks like a "+" sign with 2 LEDs at the top for each edge and 2 LEDs for each of the four side edges. 8 LEDs on top + 8 LEDs on the sides.
15 LED construction looks like 9 LED in front with a ring of 6 LEDs on the sides.
Another temptation to get cleared/blacked headlights.
