Going from a 1G to a 3G
What's up everyone. I currently have a 1st gen TL. Barely ran when I first bought it and still in the process of fixing it up. I am thinking of moving on to a 3rd gen and would want to get a manual. I've never owned a manual car, only driven them here and there. Are the manual's a fairly easy drive? I would assume so since it's newer. If I go to buy one, what is something common I should look out for, other than the leather being torn or worn? I wouldn't mind an automatic, but I'd rather not deal with the trans issues like my 2nd gen when I had it

Null and proud of it
You sound like you know some stuff about these cars.
If you get a TL 6MT, I'd suggest checking to see if the TB/WP service was done and driving it to see how the clutch works (if it's worn) and how it shifts. The synchros had problems on 3rd gear.
Oh. Don't get an auto unless it's a 2007 or 2008.

a used car is a used car is a used car is a used car...
you can pay someone to inspect the car for you, or you can inspect the car yourself...
look for common used car things....
it's no different than how you took apart your 1G...as a car is a car is a car...since you've taken apart the 1G, you know common car stuff. Go test drive some 3G's and see if you can figure out the car..
and fyi; the 3G TL is one of the hardest cars to master the clutch.
