Getting a TL Sat...I need advice

Hi everyone, after years of admiring the TL, my 96 Cougar is finally on its last leg and im ready to move onto the car ive always wanted. Im getting my 08 TL sat (lease). I am still having trouble deciding weather to go for the Type S or the regular with navi. Also, i cant decide between white or black. Thanks for your help everyone and i look forward to being a future TL driver!!

Here, let me help:

Type-S, worth every penny. WDP FTW!!

(And mine's not even of the really good looking ones; needs wheels, blacked out headlights, etc).

yea, get the type s over the regular TL, worth couple of extra dollars to have all the power, brembo brakes, and sportier suspension

as for the color.. take it from me, i've owned both and they are EQUALLY good.. yes thats right darksom, i said...EQUAL

the black, when clean, shines like nothing else.. and its sporty/stealhy
the white, stands out and is very "brilliant" in color and looks elegant/luxury

the black is REALLY hard to keep clean and looking good. takes alot of extra work
the white, the rear bumper will never match the rest of the car 100%

if i had to pick again... i would get the blue =)

aw you sure you dont wanna go for Type S? its worth it! how can ya go wrong with quad exhausts? =P

ya black is hard to keep up with for sure.. and it hurts to see lil chips here n there =(

but hey, if ur not lazy i'd say go for black! ur still young! (well i am too.) but if i could pick

again ill go for silver or blue so i can be lazy haha.

i never quite get the whole lease thing. how does it work? you just pay less monthly fee for

the car and just turn it in whenever u don't want the car anymore? like leasing

apartments? hm isn't taht waste of money? or can u pay it off and own it eventually

i went to Rallye Acura both times, just about 9 miles from the queens border on the Northern Blvd. if you go there, speak to Anthony and mention me, Allon or you can actually say the guy who owned the BLACKURA, and he'll remember me lol.

yea, i hate to push you to spend more money, but the Type S is REALLY worth the extra.. what, like $2500.... you get some serious 4piston brembo brakes with it... cooler interior stiching & sport seats, sport suspension, different headlights/taillights/sidemarkers & sport wheels and a throaty quad exhaust...

oh and the best part, 28 more hp & tq .3L more displacement and a pretty awesome Blue color thats only available on the Type S

Well, you can't get a manual transmission with the standard TL, so that might be something to consider if, in fact, it is a consideration. The car is a different machine with the manual. I know.. I have one of each.

Although I think the extra $ for the Type-s is worth it, a lot of people dont like the CF, red lights or seats. I'd say go to the dealership and take a good look at both the Type-S and the standard TL and take it from there. As far as color, c'mon, its a no brainer, WDP FTW.

I went to the dealership looking for a base TL with Navi, but when I saw and drove the Type S, there was no turning back.

Make sure you drive both. You can definitely feel the difference in HP between the two. And you also lose virtually no fuel efficiency.

I went with CBP and have not regretted it. My second choice was NBP. Would have loved to have the 6 speed manual tranny, but my wife cannot drive manual, so that was not really a feasible option.

Either way, you are getting an excellent vehicle. Keep us posted!

Nice choice, we just traded our 07 TL-P for an 08 S- had to stick to NBP, however like u said once u drive the S there is no turning back...especially if you want the Sports appeal, and more of a precise response!!! Congrats again, enjoy that thing A-Spec gotta be next!!

Another vote for Type-S. And you've got to go WDP. I went CBP, but wish I would've held out for WDP. My dealer said they couldn't locate one within 150 miles, but I think they just wanted to get rid of the CBP on the lot. Oh well, I raked them over the coals since I wasn't completely sold on the car or the color and in the end got a great deal.

Def. get the type-s ... you will thank us all for this later on down the road ...

As for the color, you have to decide as it's really a personal choice ... I picked NBP ...

No to change the subject..but did you get screwed over doing this? This is exactly what I want to do.

To the OP, go for the Type S, don't have regrets like me~!

That's sweet. What did you use to outline the ACURA letters on the front bumper?

Are you considering tinting your windows?

TYPE S! and NBP.... you know this man! haha

if your young, and love your car you wanna keep it clean anyway... NBP..... dooo it

the extra money is worth the type s, extra power, better brakes, suspension, (cool seats if u get the type s with black on silver interior)

ok, so i have an update...I decided on a normal TL with navigation- WDP....I get up today as if was Christmas morning and i was 5 years old again. Go to the dealership, fill out all the paperwork and the truck comes in with my shiny new car on it. The anticipation is building and i am now 10 mins away from driving it home.....until someone backs into it and makes a 1 inch crack in the bumper. It was nothing serious at all and hard to notice without looking closely, but really, who wants a brand new car with an imperfection. I have the absolute worst luck. So i ended up going home tonight without a TL....I am happy to report the dealership is personally driving the TL to my house (fixed bumper) Mon all nice nice and they threw in all-season mats and oil changes. Now...anyone have any suggestions for under-body kits???
