I want to buy a new TL (Anthracite/Quartz/Navi) in the next week or two, but I can only afford $34,000 out the door (cash customer). Do you think I can find a dealer that is willing to do that or should I forget about it?

I dunno. I remember in the year 2000 I was buying a Ford Focus and it was going for $16,000. I told them I will give them 14,500 cash. They wouldnt budge and didnt care. So it may go the same with Acura dont know for sure, but give it a shot, you won't know until you try.

I have an Anthracite/Ebony/6MT/Nav and I paid less than $34,000 for it. You should be able to find what you are looking for and for the amount you are willing to pay.

I don't see how. Even if they gave it to you at cost, after taxes you'd be over 34K. You're way down into the holdback as it is, and there are real costs associated with bringing you the vehicle.

The dealer's got to eat. While nobody wants to get ripped off, "profit" does serve a purpose in the grand scheme of things.

You could do it for $35K, probably even a couple hundred less. But don't get insulted if they say no to your offer -- 34K is a really skinny deal on a car that's selling like hotcakes. Even if they could squeeze $300-400 net profit on your deal, in 30 minutes they're going to get another offer a couple hundred higher for the same car.

Offer $34K OTD and walk. Whatever their final counter offer is, that's the best price you're going to get. Personally, if I could come up with the first $34K, I could find a way to come up with the last few hundred bucks.

Make the offer to MANY dealers. I called every dealer in North Carolina and got one dealer to go cheap then got my local dealer to match it. Yea so it pissed my salesman off but I got it for cheap. Some dealers I called wouldn't budge at all of retail, not a $1 but that was in December

I just got an 04 TL with Navi for $34K out the door. I had to call about 10 dealers, but I ended up getting this deal with the one in Omaha Nebraska. If you are wanting the salesman's name send me a PM and I will get it to you along with his #.

Well, I ended up buying one yesterday for $34,250 plus a beat up 96 Monte Carlo OTD. So, did I get screwed? They would not drop it to $34,000 w/ the Monte Carlo what so ever. Maybe because I am in the Dallas area and they are going like hotcakes here. The car came with lumar tint, wheel locks, side body moldings. Side moldings haven't been installed yet and I am thinking of asking the dealer for a rear spoiler instead. Any opinions?

First off, congratulations! I trust you'll love it as much as the rest of us do.

As for the spoiler, that's a personal preference and mine is not to get it. The car just looks so clean without it and spoilers are a pain to clean and wax. But it's still an opinion.

I would say that you got a good deal for 1k off sticker, as long as you got a decent trade for your Monte Carlo. This is especially the case given it came with Llumar tint ($$). The wheel locks and BSMs are frequently added to deals. Welcome to the club!

I'm thinking maybe I should get these, though I don't know if Acura makes them available through their dealers. But I'd hate the thought of a tire throwing a pebble at speed against my paint.

Are these available through Acura dealers and how many of you have installed them?

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. Anyone in the Austin area, go to Sterling Acura. It's a new store and I know the owner real well (my Uncle). $34K for that car is doable and they are looking to make things happen. I live in Florida so no I don't get anything or sending deals in. Good luck.

My wife and I looked on Acura's site at the BSM and didn't like how they looked so we got the dealer to do the Mud Guards and a trunk tray instead. Hopefully they will look good on the AM.
