Getting a Loaner Age Question

ok so Im not 25 and when i went to make an appointment today they asked me if i needed a loaner for the day and i said yes i need to get to work... my question is are they gonna make a copy of my license when i go to pick it up or will they just give it to me and not realize im 25... this may be a really stupid question/Post but i was just wondering cause ive never went through the process...
Thanks

And by the way im going in to get the Power steering Recall done which i had brought my car in already to be done but turned out they never did it

Varies by dealership and/or state. Depends on how their insurance on loaners is set up or on how local laws affect loaner/rental cars.

Best thing to do is call them and find out in advance. Last thing you need is to be standing at the service desk finding out you have no ride or have to reschedule. Waste of your time and theirs.

I'm 22 and always get a loaner car, even though my license is from NY and I live in NC. They made a copy once and never asked any questions about age or anything like that.

Corporate Acura has no say in it apparently, its per dealer / insurance.. I'll be 25 in 2 months and still have to get a POS rental from Enterprise.

I was going to have some service recall thing done (the ps pump something???) - they asked my age (23) and said I could have a loaner.

As said- its state dependant on the insurance regulations for rental cars
Loaners are technically rentals the dealer is providing for you
If the dealer cant help you, neither should enterprise

CAll your dealer and make sure- if you cant get a car, arrange a ride to work thru them or friend

It may vary upon dealer. I had a rsx and I was 23 and the dealer was being a bitch about age, but now that I thought of it, I should have just said I was 25 ..and just be like I don't have my license w/ me lol.
They dealer said ...last two time they lend out loaners to rsx owners...The cars didn't come back in one piece. lol. That aint my fault.
But ya, its wierd they denied to give me a loaner, but they got me a rental korean car. I think Kia.
My K20 was burning too much oil, they dropped in a new long block. This was a 2006 RSX Type-S w/ 25K miles. I didn't even bang it up.

I am telling you people- I worked in the car repair industry, and I worked next to an avis agent for a while- heard everyday about the age- no license issues
Its ALL about AGE as an insurance requirement - are you going to pay for damage?

Some states are 21 others are 25, but it is a state insurance law directly concerning rental cars- the loaner is a `rental car` acura is paying for-even if its from their set of loaner cars

Driving without a drivers license is illegal and they wont give you a car!
If you look young and crazy driver- its cheaper for them to get a car from enterprise than risk their own cars~

Want a real bummer?- get married young, fly to Hawaii on honeymoon and despite the rental car voucher the travel agent gave you- you are not 25- sorry no car!
Now what are you going to do?? that happened on a weekly basis

I didnt think age would matter.....because as long as you have insurance why wouldnt they give you a loaner because your insurance is covering you just in case something happens.....but then again I kno nothing....lol

I dont know what the Law is for NJ because my Acura dealer in NJ says you have to 25+ to get a loaner from them....BUT Ray Catena Mercedes-Benz says its 21+ and gives me a loaner everytime???? is it dependent on the specific dealer's policy not just state law?

has everything to do with age and the dealer's policy........the ONLY TIME Acura Corporate says you get a rental is when recall/warranty work is done on your car and it will take X amt of time or longer. (IE you have trans R&R) but the dealer's age restrictions reply.

Most dealers will give out rentals for work that takes a day or longer or if you absolutely need it.

From MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with MY DEALER is I get one whenever I need it because I will wait for most repairs even if it takes several hours and I treat my service adviser with respect even when they have screwed up my car.........
