Hey, does anyone have a pin out diagram for the gauge cluster?
I have a Type-S cluster that I pulled from a fire damaged car and just want to check the mileage as it looks like some capacitors are a bit melted and I don't want to risk messing up my cars electronics if I plug it in.
Trying to power it up off the car.
I believe the 04-08 pin out is the same, as people directly swap the gauge cluster with no problems besides the airbag and TPMS error.
Self help is the best help. Care to share your finding as usual?
On connector B:
Pin 17 and 18 are positive
Pin 1 and 10 are negative

lol
I actually had the service manual the whole time, but it only shows the entire gauge circuit diagram so I had to look for which one is which from the diagram. I was being lazy when I made this thread, and hoped someone had a pin out diagram like this:
The capacitors should be pretty easy to replace.
Better to replace it since this is being sold.
there was fire set in the engine bay, driver seat, and rear seat.
no, the fire did not spread all the way back there from the engine bay, otherwise everything inbetween the firewall and rear seat would have been dust and goo, including this cluster.
initially i blamed the power steering fluid leak, but it's evidently not
must have been set in 3 different spots, vandalism? insurance fraud? nobody knows really
Yep. Didnt drive it enough. Couldnt sell it because they wanted too much for it. Couldnt afford to keep insuring it and not using it/couldnt afford to keep it in general maybe. Lost too much in depreciation. Soooo set it on fire.

Pics?
If PSF were to ignite, it would be from the 3rd cat, which is right below the front seats.. This fire would walk itself back from the leak (usually the high pressure PS hose / pump / return line). So it's plausible that's what occurred.. fire put out before it could engulf car.
here are a couple pics
under the hood, the whole engine bay is pretty much melted/gone (except for the block). nothing was salvageable from under the hood
