gauge brightness
Yes....RTFM
Well, it depends. If you have your nav set to auto brightness, it will switch between day and night display based upon whether you have your headlights on or not....unless you have your gauges set to max brightness, in which case the NAV will always be on daytime brightness display. Again, RTFM.

I drive with my headlights on during the day (I wish we had auto running lights like our friends to the North instead of the fog lights) So I hit the Max switch so I can see the dash, this also turns the NAVI on to “Day Mode” (assuming you have the NAVI set to auto). Then in the evening I hit the Max switch again and it returns to the dim mode that I have preset (Which is very low as I live in a rural area with no street lights) and the NAVI also goes to “Night Mode”.
dam it would be to much for me to always change the setting every night and every morning.
day time running lights would be nice. i have a habbit of tuning the headlights on as soon as i turn the key to start the car

Unfortunately.
Unfortunately, I like to drive with my headlights on when on the highway. In order to see the guages in the bright Southwest sun, that means max brightness in the daytime is a must. Then, it's too bright at night. So - turn it down is required at night.
