FUUUUUU TL, meet tree. Now what?
Welp, earlier this afternoon I went to test drive an 05 CTS-V (traitor, yes I know). Anyway, cruising at 65-70 in the right lane because it's raining like shit and visibility blows. All of a sudden I catch a low spot in the road, my car starts drifting sideways (call me DK ), I try to correct it but it was too late. I did a 180, skipped across a ditch, smacked a tree, back across the same ditch and did another 180 in the process. Highlight of my fhkin life.
My guardian angel was keeping up today
What's the financial damage; repairable or totaled?
Looks like another vehicle will be coming into the picture sooner than later, but what?

sorry to say mna but thats a total loss
air bags alone will be around 3k in parts.
doing a quick guess your looking at around 15,00 to 20,000 in damage
looks like you have some really bad chassis damage as well as really bad sheet metal work!
the car will be totaled out man

AMU-I'm glad you're OK. Sorry to see your TL looking like this.
I know that CTS-V is looking pretty good right now. Honestly, I hate to say it, but I'm not sure if there's a reason to repair this car-there's a ton of damage here.

Fucking hell John. The picture you texted me doesn't do this justice. That's insane! I'm glad you weren't injured and I hope insurance doesn't fuck you on this.
I must admit though, I think it's sorta funny how your exhaust is still poking straight out where the bumper should be

Omg...that's terrible man. Your car was really nice... All I can say is that if you had to total your TL, you did it the right way. No other cars were involved and it was a rear collision, not near the front of the car where you are. Just be thankful you're alright.
Were those all-season tires or summer tires on the car?

I told you man lol it's nasty. I think my insurance will treat me nicely. My family has a lot insured with them and they've always treated us well. Worse comes to worse I'll take the "repair" check and part the car out piece by piece.
I couldn't believ the exhaust wasn't all fhked up LOL looks like nipples

Glad you're okay!
Your TL was sexy =(
I don't think it's worth repairing; that's thousands and thousands worth of damage.

They were on all-season elcheapo tire on the car. But I75 is full of potholes on the southbound side where I was traveling. The trooper who reported to my wreck said there was about 5 other wrecks within the past hour..
Yeah man it was scary. I could not find my phone after it happened so I shut the car off, turn on the hazards, crawl out and start waving my arms to get some ones attention. Luckily an ambulance was passing by and stopped.
Thank you everyone else! I don't think I'd be sitting here typing right now if I had struck the tree on my side or even head on.

the exact same thing happen to my 2002 TL on a interstate road in the same weather/ road conditions while traveling through Louisiana ,.... I feel your pain, And we are glad you are OK. Hope you chose another one.... forget the caddy!
Car flew off the embankment and into a 3 foot trench of water. Toast...
What did I learn from this: Choose better tires and never underestimate road conditions.

Wow!!
I'm very glad to see that you made it through this ok. Like you said atleast it was the rear of the car and not the front.
I75 in that area is never good and with all the rain the last few days this could of happened to anyone.
Good luck with the insurance company. Doesn't look like the AMUA6 is repairable to me.
Again glad you're ok man.

Area on my XM
Damn. RIP UA6. I had some minor body work done recently after getting hit on the side, and that bill was pushing pretty close to $10k. I think you'll be finding yourself in a new ride pretty soon.

Wow. Glad to see that you are Ok. Really sorry about your TL, though. It gave itself up for you... look at it that way.
So a CTS-V may be in the picture here, eh? Nice machine. I was next to two of them at a light within the fast few days (one was yesterday). Love those cars. And then there is the new 2011 Mustang V8. That might be an excellent consideration, too.
