Future TL owner..

Hello all

I'm currently a bimmer owner, but I will be in the market for a "new" car soon. I've actually never owned a non-german/rwd car before, so I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible about these cars here.

The reason for the switch is I will be commuting to school, and I need something more reliable/less expensive to fix while I'm there. I'm currently saving money to put down a deposit on a CPO'ed TL so any info you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Welcome Bears! You're looking at the right brand, for sure. Acura/Honda's are reliable, low maintenance and run and run and run.

Well....for one....they're not RWD..they're FWD. And I left a BMW 330i for my TL-S and will never look back at a German car again. Maintenance is low...lot more indy shops for these cars than BMW. And if you do have to take it to one...you don't have to give them both of your arms and legs to fix it!!

Yes, that's what I originally meant. Thanks for the correction

I definitely hear you on the arm and leg part for a bmw. I love bimmers very much, but they're just not practical for someone in my financial position. I very much like these cars and I absolutely loved my friends TL-S that I drove.

I'm most likely looking to spend no more then 18.5k on a CPO. What mileage would be reasonable for that price?

Based on what I got mine for and what I've seen most listed for I'd guess for 18.5K it's gonna have atleast 50K miles. Most CPO's I've seen aren't cheaper than $22K

I've found a couple at that price range, and it's right around the mileage you mentioned if not a bit more. I have plenty of time still, as I'm in the process of saving money; so I want to get a good idea of what I should be looking for.

The last thing I want to do is walk into a dealership with no knowledge of what I'm about to buy. I'm pretty excited though; everyone I've spoken to about this car has been very optimistic

Thanks for the welcome and the responses.
