Funky Start
I have 400 miles on my new 04TL. Today I started the car, got a whining noise, kind of like a bad starter. It did this 3 or 4 times the dash lights dimmed out, the motor cranked & then it started. This happend a few times during the day to varying degrees. The last time I started it, it started fine. Anybody else have anything like this happen? Any idea as to what's going on?

its your starter my camaro did the same thing. its kinda like the teeth aren't fit together good and you have to get them together ( thats the whining noise) and then it starts.

Not a Blowhole
Bad gas, bad spark, or faulty fuel pump. If it were bad gas, you would experience driveability problems as well, like surging or hesitation. Acura knows what it has calibrated the start cycle to do - don't sweat it.

It seems that as the car is still breaking in, the gas milage, power and engine smoothness will be affected. All of this is attributed to the referenced "higher internal friction" of the engine. This could certainly be a culprit of some rough starting.

Thanks
It was OK last week, but I had a bit of a rough start last night. Did not make any winding noises, just had to crank it a litle more. I'll keep you guys posted.
