Fuel additives

Has anyone have you guys ever heard of Marvel Mystery Oil? Or something like that... Suppose to clean your engine like your spark plugs and what not. Do these really work??

Also I remember when I was in Japan... my buddy with 240 puts these things on his car... called ELF. (http://www.more-japan.com/home.php?cat=1893) ... I'm curious lol.

Never heard of "Marvel Mystery Oil," try Seafoam.. The ELF seems just like another fuel additive

MMO has been around forever. I used to run it in my "smoke system" on the old Subaru because it smells really bad when it burns. It has it's uses but I would not put it in the tank. In fact, I would not put anything in the tank unless you've gotten a bad batch of fuel. It's just a waste of money if you've run a top tier fuel for the car's whole life.

If you do, stick with the name brand stuff like Redline, Amsoil, Techron, etc.

If you're running a top tier premuium fuel, you're already getting a high maintenence dose of these additives.

Mystery Oil has been around longer than you have been alive. It is like BG, seafoam and other products like that, they all claim the same thing

As others have said, Marvel Mystery Oil has been around forever. I recall Peter Egan of Road & Track said he's used it in certain old cars without any problems. I don't see much reason to use it in the TL, though. About the only fuel additive I ever use is the occasional bottle of Dry Gas (or another fuel-line antifreeze) if I'm going to have the car parked outside in particularly cold weather for any length of time.

yes I've used MMO on my subaru actually... and it actually makes or can feel the difference. I believe these ELF stuff is pretty famous in japan. But then again these 240s fools will risk anything lol... Just trying to see what are your POV on these.
