Door side molding.

Hi
Yesterday some guy parked next to me left scratch in my door. Finally I decided to install door side molding (I am not sure I picked right term).

While browsing AcuraZine, I found pic of TL with that I want:

I have 2006 Acura TL albaster silver, so if you guys could advise me store where I can buy them would be nice.
Also, can I install them by myself?

Thanks a lot!

p.s. To owner of TL on this pic - car is really nice!

your local dealership should have them or you can order them from Kaleb, a vendor on this forum from Santa Rosa Prestige. im pretty sure you can install it yourself since it's just double sided tape, challenge may be to get it at a straight line?

im keeping mine on until im done with school since students seem to not care about the car next to them!

like the post above me advised, call an acura dealer or use the vendor 'kaleb' from this forum. i noticed you live in MD, call up Frankel Acura if you get a chance @ 410-666-5300. they've always treated me right.

i like those moldings too...never knew they existed till now. i could've used those 2 weeks ago when some asshole in a work truck dinged my door with his door. i watched it happen from afar, confronted him about it, but of course he didn't do it. i love how i go buy a car, and 3 days later this happens. not a ding on my car anywhere, and this one *magically* pops up, n this guy "didn't do it". ahh...i hate car dings. specially on acura paint, acura paint doesn't seem to hold up well to damage. at least from my experience.

I'm very curious if it is really double-sided tape. Mine has those on and I'd like to remove them, but was told there are two holes drilled to mount it. If it really is double sided tape, I'd be glad to remove and sell them to you. My TL is Anthrocite.

Looks like they are just glued on and can be removed:

Thanks everybody for replies.

Yes, paint on Acura is not so great, easy to scratch. I will try to find the best deal from links you guys gave me. Appreciate it.

Thanks

RedOctober,
PM me and it'll give me some incentive to pull mine off.
I have albaster silver TL, so we have different color.

I believe the official name for the part you seek is "body side molding." It's often been referred to on this forum as "BSM" (or sometimes "BSMs"). I doubt the forum will allow a search for "BSM" because it's such a short word, but a search for "body side molding" might work.

Any dealer should be able to obtain it for you because it was an accessory that you could purchase with the car if you wanted. I ordered mine when I bought my TL because at the time I worked in a building where the underground car park had a few rather tight spaces and I wanted to guard against door dings.
