Front signal lights? Replace?
Front signal lights? Replace?
I have seen many ppl on here with what looks like blue hid turn signal light bulbs in the headlights. I am wondering if the bulb is just simply changed? or if there is more too it? and where these bulbs were purchased?

...get two of those.
Then go and get your hands on two resistors, 6 ohm 100 watt, and tap into the wires in the trunk that go to the tail lights. There is a DIY for the wiring in the 3G garage.
Also while you are there, look up blacking/clearing headlights. That will show the switchbacks in action. They aren't HID's but rather LED's.

Sweet, they look like a bitch to install though, from what I looked at under the hood today. I need some instructions, lol, im not much a DIYer and I cant find them on here.
The front turn signal bulbs are one of the easiest bulbs to replaced next to the rear signal bulbs. All you have to do is remove that one clip from the front fender well, pull it over, reach in, twist, and remove the bulb.

Dave, I did the switchback bulbs for the turn lights. I wanted no amber in the headlights unless I have the turn signal on.

I think it's an 1157 bulb though. The link in DimWit's link is not the correct style bulb, I think. We did install the resistors. Otherwise, your turn signals will blink very fast, as if you have a burn out bulb.

It's a long process, but not the worst thing ever. I knocked it all out in about 6 or 7 hours.
For removing the front bumper and basic messing with the headlights:

Yes, you have to remove the front bumper to access and take out the headlights.
All you are doing is swapping the regular bulb for the LED tower, so it should twist and snap right in to the existing port. If you are wondering why I sent a link about clearing your headlights is because having both switchbacks and the orange diffuser is totally pointless. The switchback gives off white light, but being behind the orange, it's not going to took any different. You should take out the diffuser so the switchbacks can actually be seen. If you would rather leave the headlights stock besides that, that's fine, you aren't obligated to black them out or anything. If you are thinking about taking off the tint on your headlights, heat it with a hairdryer and then peel it off...it works a lot better than trying to pick at it piece by piece.

The guy that made that thread helped me install my resistors this past weekend and that DIY is perfect.

I forgot, you can also access the turn signal bulbs from the wheel well. I didn't take off my front bumper. There are 2 snaps on each wheelwell. Pop those off and pull back the wheelwell. You can reach up there and access the bulbs. We installed my resistors in the trunk too. But we mounted them on top of the tail light assembly. It has a great little deck that the resistors sit on top of.
so let me get this straight if I removed the old bulb put in the new led one, with the untouched oem headlights, they will still shine orange because of the reflector?
