Front nose mask, need advice

For you guys that opted for the full bra or mask as it's called, I
was wondering how much trouble it is to install and remove. I would love to put one on my TL but I am guessing that you would
remove it for washing. I wash the car ALOT and want to have the front protected from that Interstate road rash. Do you typically
remove it before washing? If not, does it trap water between it
and the paint. Thanks in advance..

I opted for the full mask and since having it installed, I have not needed to remove it for washing or waxing....... :lol1:

if it is anything like installing the bra on an Accord, it isn't difficult at all. You remove the two screws in the front of the wheel well and replace them with the ones in the install pack. The rest is stretching the bra over the front of the car and using the snaps to affix the bottom to the two screws you installed. The hood is a cinch... Just put it on and attach the straps to the underside of the hood.

I just removed mine. It took about 2 minutes...it was nothing. I took it off because I was concerned about the dusk, dirt and rocks that were gathering under the mask on the paint. I unbuckled the front finder covers from under the hood just to see what the paint looked like and it was fine but I discoverd small rocks and dirt settling under it so when the weather warms up I am going to use the Zaino kit I got over Christmas and give it a good wash and Zaino and then put it back on.

I will be checking it once a week though and make sure there are no more rocks gathering.

As far as putting it back on...haven t yet but as easy as it was to remove...putting it on shouldnt be a problem.

I found that the Full mask I got with the TL is much more complicated to install than then one for my Solara. There are elastic bands that go from the top to the bottom - I'm not sure how they connect since I have only un-installed it once.

However, the mask on the Solara saved my front end from some nasty stuff in the road more than once, and I will always have it on for anything more than a short trip.

I Zaino'd underneath several times before having the dealer install it, and there were no scratches, etc, when I removed it for washing.

If you do worry about the ding or chip on your engine hood, as well as you haven't found the better way to put on the bra or protection, you'd better to have this nose mask.

I have a dozen of damage on my engine hood 'cause of this thin paint finish in my 04TL.

If you cannot slow down on the highway or cannot stop chasing those trunks, you should have something on.

use the clear-bra and forget you even have a bra on the car, this stuff is great. Can be polished and waxed or zainoed just like the car's paint. Check out some other posts I think everyone is very happy with this stuff; I know I am.

I bought the full nose-mask and one warning in the instructions is to not let it sit wet on top of your hood. It will dull your paint.

So when It rains, you must remove it and let it dry.
My friend fried her paint because of this...

This full-nose mask looks like a mesh, not like the 00TL which resembled smooth leather.

the dealer wanted $100 just to install it, I said no way, go rip somebody else off!
