Front grill for 3rd gen Type-S

So what do you guys think of this grill kit? I've seen some installations & I'm not 100% sold on it yet but I do like the look it gives the Type-S...

....scroll down for sample pics. Thanks.

I like it, it's something different. But it's not a direct replacement and cutting and other shit has to be done to it.

I agree, I like the openness & meaness of the look it gives but I do not like the edge being dark grey or matching the car exactly, I have NBP. I almost wish I could just take the stock grill, cut out the Acura emblem & chrome pieces to the left & right of it and replace the honeycomb portion with the mesh metal but leave all the outter trim pieces the same. My search continues, thanks.

Izzy i have a tl-s as well and had a grill like that installed a couple months ago. Unfortunately i purchased the ebay one for the 04-06 models by accident (stupid me).

The shop custom fitted it to my car by adding fiberglass to the bottom. The grill specifically for the 07-08 models (including type s) that you have shown here should fit pretty well, but you will have to cut and sand where the middle bar was from the old grill. as for the edge being grey, you could have it painted NBP or whatever color you want and it will look great.
i have mine painted black and stuck a type s emblem in the upper left corner, looks great on my KBP imo and with the a-spec front it really sets it apart from all other TLs.

Thanks but I cant find anything. The one in the pics above is ok, wish the grey was lighter & would stand out more on my NPB. The dudes ebay store says its black but needs painting, thats was weird. Guess the search continues.

Eeeek those pictures above of the KBP just doesnt look right. Looks like there is a huge awkward hole in the front (which I guess there is lol). Not my cup of tea thats for sure. I think the OEM chrome and honeycomb Type S grill looks the best. Why mess with something thats already good?

hmm...not that bad, I think it would look much better on a WDP , and only on a WDP. All the other Colors for the S, I think the chrome really stands out well, not so much on WDP.

I like this but would change one thing. I think the mesh is too far back in the grille, looks like a big hole from far away.

They should move the mesh to the forward 1/3 of the grille, I think it would look much better and less like a hole.

Just my

Hot grill....VERY hot. It looks good on the KBP, but I think it would look best with NBP or ASM or Anthricite.

Everyones grills in the links above look kick ass. I think I'm going to go with buying the grill in the pics I posted, painting the charcoal dark grey edges NBP & maybe semi-gloss on the mesh. After that I will either re-apply the "A" emblem or a Type-S emblem on the upper right or left. The chrome just stands out too much for my tastes but I also dont want to loose a great design.

Bacon, I think so too. It looks like the stock grill customized with smoked chrome finish. I have NBP & wasnt completely sold on getting the grill NBP as well...blending it all in together. I like this look here.

It looks nice. Anybody know how much a replacement OEM Type-S grille costs?

Here's my DIY thread....I just did this about a month ago.

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/e-073-diy-custom-grill-mod-cutting-adding-grill-mesh-lots-pics-748647/

Feel free to post any questions you have in my thread....

My grill isn't store bought but a lot of work that paid off in the end.

Well I like yours for the cleaness, the Type-S ebay one for the aggressiveness but I like it with the "A" still on and/or the Type-S logo tucked in an upper corner. Here are some photos of the options I'm winding down to...

the ebay one is the top left pic, the rest are stock grills customized. i really cant tell the difference besides the ebay one looking deeper. I will definitely keep the "A" on there regardless of which one I do. Either way I'm gonna have to paint unless I leave the outer edge chrome & just redo the holes I cut for the bars that go to the left & right of the "A" emblem. Decisions, decisions.

i actually dont have a digital camera to take a pic of my car to show you, sorry. the grill with the type s emblem in the corner imo will make the car look more aggressive and racy, theres even different color emblems for sale on ebay for like 10 bucks. the grill with the A in the middle also looks great, it gives the car a more stock, clean appearance, while still setting it apart from other TLs.
Also the ebay one might look "deeper" because the other pics are of 04-06 Tls which have slightly smaller grills.

I agree, the Type-S logo to the top right looks racy while the "A" emblem still in the middle looks simple & classy. I got the "Acura" letting for the front bumper thats why I wanted to simplify the rest. I like either look "A" emblem or Type-S...guess I'll let them wife pick. Hahaha. Do you have a picture phone at least to see what you got?
