Is it me or for some reason Honda can never match the color of the bumper to thier cars...especially SSM..i went to the dealer cuz my bumpers dont match n he told me this was normal an showed me all these cars(new) with same prob..any of u guys notice this....is it becouse of the diff surface's...i mean i know if they get enough coats they can match right??....i kinda noticed it on anthracite too....gimme ur

 

Ive noticed a friend's WDP TL with diff colors. The body look white but the front and rear bumper had a yellow tint to it.

 

the bumper will never be the same as the car because the paint settles differently on urethane than metal..

 

The color doesn't match because of the flex additive added to the paint when the bumpers are sprayed.

 

You do a search on this and you will find lots of discussion. The flex agent is not the issue, it is lack of coverage. ie not enough paint. Those that have not been happy and persistent have gotten Acura to pay for the bumpers painted. It is a matter of perception. All the colors have some mismatch but the darker the color the closer it is. 95% of the people think it is not a significant issue. I don't really know why but most are a lot more concerned with butt prints on the seat. Perception is reality. It would be nice to have a better paint job, yet the car is built for a price point and compromises are made.

 

I have '03 Honda Accord (silver) and its bumpers match perfectly. I also used to have '98 Accord and also - perfect match (silver again). My '04 WDP TL has this mismatch (not very noticeable, but I can see it). When I had '04 SSM TL for service loaner - the discoloration was very very bad. How it can happen - Hondas have perfect match and luxury Acuras never match? Both Hondas and Acuras have metal body and plastic bumpers.

 

I've had two SSM TLs and the bumpers matched perfectly on both cars.

 

Some colors match closer than others. And Acura is not the only manufacturer that wrestles with this.

 

exactly what im sayin...plenty of other cars ,match...i think we should get on these dealers for the mismatch n these butt-prints maybe they will make a recall..i highly doubt it but it's worth a shot
