Front Brakes 2007-2008 TL-S

Need help: Akebono Ceramics

Are they any good? What are your feelings? Experiences with them...

Where did you find them? Part number if you have it.

How much did you pay?

Would you recommend a different set up and why?

I'm on my 2nd OEM set...hella dusty and muy expensive.

Please help out... please

Best~

Hit up Excelerate. He can probably give you some good advice on brake setups.

Are you looking for just pads or rotors too?

ROTORA H2 ceramic pads are low dust, low noise and good bite. They are a great alternative to the OE pads with better performance and less dust.

No, the OE pads are not the best as performance goes. Of course, any brake pad will emit dust. Some of the better performings pads will emit more dust like the Hawk HPS. However, the ROTORA H2 ceramic pads are a great balance.

For a daily driver, the OEM pads are hard to beat for performance, but they produce a lot of dust.

I loved their performance, but wanted to get away from the dust. I decided to try the Racing Brake ET300's and am very happy with them. They have every bit of performance as the OEM pads and zero to very little dust. And they are 2/3 the cost of the OEM pads. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Mr. Heeltoe.com has them.

Watch out for the Hawk pads. There are a lot a complaints on this board about them eating rotors. Not sure with Hawk pads they are, but do your research before going with Hawk.

i just upgraded to a full Racing Brake setup (w/ RB500 pads), and have been super happy. I dont have the Brembo setup because i am only a AT, but it is something to look in to. Bought them from HeelToe, and had really great service. They also make a two piece rotor which are fricken sweet, but kinda $$$

Akebonos are glorified stock pads, as are many others out there.

We stick with what we know is a good performance engineered product with the street driver in mind. Racingbrake has been a great company to deal with and they have handled every customer service issue that has come up. For stuff that is not just relabled or repainted off the shelf parts they are HARD to beat.

Thanks for all the feedback thus far. This is my 2nd OEM set. Sounds like you've got trade stopping performance for less dust. Based on the SME's here its between Rotoras or Racing brake.

What are the price points for each axel set by brand?

Not sure which type is most popular...

Are the Racing Brakes ceramic? What about Hawks?

How much more dust does hawk create in comparison to the a fore mentioned duo?

I like strong performance...we got some wild ones here in Florida!

We have pricing for ROTORA pads right on the webstore at:\

http://store.excelerateperformance.com

Just put your vehicle info in and look under brakes and then ROTORA H2 ceramic pads. Here's a quick link to the front pads for the Brembo calipers on the TL.
