Fraud Warning

Found this review (2005 TL) on MSN Auto. The individual generalized the TL as a total POS. All the other reviews were positive with high 9's and 10's. He must have had a real bad experience with Acura. This doesn't come close to describing our cars.

"**** FRAUD WARNING ****"
2005 Acura TL 6-Spd MT
07/05/2005
By: An MSN Autos Consumer
Owned: Less than 1 year
Review ID: #473500

PROS
Nothing

CONS:
Disgustingly cheap, piss-poor quality, horrible performance, miserably unreliable. Dealers refuse to honor warranties. Wilful fraud.

OVERALL REVIEW:
Acura designs and manufactures disgustingly cheap products and misrepresents them as luxury cars. Acura wilfully defrauds every customer. Life’s too short to suffer with an Acura. I made the mistake of purchasing a new TL based on my experience with a late model Accord. I should have kept the Accord. The Accord was a significantly superior automobile in every respect. An Acura has no quality, no reliability, no performance, no comfort, and absolutely no support. Acura makes the worst cars on the market today. There are better cars available at your local junk yard for less than $100. Due to all the defects, pathetic quality & reliability, insufferable performance, complete lack of service, excessive repair bills, lawsuits, and the misery inflicted on me by Acura and it’s dealers I replaced the car after only 3 months. If you purchase one of these disasters you’ll be subject to the same abuse. Don’t be Acura’s next fraud victim. You’ll be miserable as long as you’re stuck with it.

I just read that this morning. Funny.

Yeah, he doesn't seem to understand the Honda/Acura relationship, mainly in the terms of THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY!

Toyota = Lexus, Nissan = Infiniti, Honda = Acura

HAHA, I thought that was funny saying that the TL is a POS compared to an Accord, when the TL is somewhat a better version of the Accord, and saying that Acura makes crappy cars is basically saying Honda sucks which is wrong. The person probaly bought a f*cked up TL and he should be introduced to this forum.

His TL reminds of of my 1st new car, an '86 Accord LX vandalized on the assmebly line (proven) that got bought back by Honda.

I kinda of agree with him. My 1993 Honda Civic 5MT had minor problems, and 2002 Accord Coupe Special Edition had absolutely no problems. My girlfriend's 2002 Accord Sedan EX today with 63,000 has no problems. My 2004 Acura TL, which cost more to purchase so far has a few minor problems.

I'd never buy another Acura, but I still love my TL.

But IMHO

Honda > Acura
Honda Service by far > Acura
Toyota > Acura

above statement is based on my experience

Funny, my experience is the opposite. Our extended family, and immediate family have had a total of 5 Acuras now (me=96 2.5TL, bro = 2001 1.7EL, aunt = TSX, other aunt = 2002 3.2TL, grandpa = 2002 3.5RL) , and one Accord (uncle's 2004 EX V6 6MT). The service at the Acura dealer tends to be a lot better. You're going to the wrong dealer if you're getting bad service. My toyota dealer was terrible when I owned a 1990 4Runner. They tried to screw me over by buying a used part and charging me full price for it. Not to mention you always had to wait for way longer than they said. It took them 4 hours to get my vehicle through for an oil change! And it wasn't just one day, it was every single time I was there, service took forever and was more expensive than on my TL. The TSX and 3.5RL have been trouble free, literally. Not one thing has gone wrong. The Accord had a couple rattles, but they were taken care of under warranty. The 1.7EL has had zero problems and my bro drives the shit out of it. My car has had the C/V joints replaced (at 190 000km), and the A/C pulley and D4 light replaced, and a few other light bulbs and regular maintenance. My dealer does things quickly, efficiently, and for a good price (an oil change is $32.50CDN, plus they wash my car AND offer courtesy rides if I need it, even for an oil change.) It's too bad you got a bad dealer.
