LOL. Did you investigate this before you bought the TL?

There is a pass-through from the trunk, but no folding seats.

I have to admit, though, I've had a couple of times that I did wish the seats folded down, but other than those couple of times, really don't care...

Blind spots? Huh? Everybody's always going on about blind spots on the TL...they aren't that bad people...put the headrests all the way down and don't G your seat and you should be able to see fine (somehow I manage)...blind spots were horrible on my ex-girlfriend's convertible...the TL is fine...heck, just adjust your mirrors and you'll have NO blind spots (I'd link the thread, but I'm feeling lazy...some nice, motivated person will do it or you could always search).

Was going to say... a noob driver may not know how to adjust his mirrors to get rid of all blind spots. This works in almost every car on earth.

For those that are concerned with the blindspots on the TL, there is a better solution. Check this thread for Multivex mirrors. I have them and they are phenominal! They are a quality product and once I got used to them I now have complete confidence in what I see in the mirrors.

There is a reason the rear seats don't fold down. Acura wanted to stiffen the body in the TL for better handling/performance. There is actually a frame of sorts behind the rear seats in a double "H" shape that significantly stiffens the rear body, reducing flex. This is also why the TL has a "bridge" running between the tops of the front strut towers. The bridge also reduces body/frame flex when cornering hard. That's one reason why the car feels like it's glued to the road. I would like to have folding rear seats myself but prefer what Acura did. I like the increased stiffness of the body.

Oh yah, we need those auto folding headrests, that is one thing that I though was stupid until we got the TL.

also no tie down for trunk (I have to manually bring the lock lever down so I can loop a tie down string from the lock to the latch which works fine)

blindspots.....no problem.

1. sitting in the driver's seat, basically mash your face up against the drivers side window. next, adjust the driver's sideview mirror out until you no longer see the left side of your car being reflected on the mirror. done....

2. leaning across and on top of the middle armrest, do the same thing for the passenger sideview mirror. adjust out until right side of car is no longer being reflected in the mirror.

3. adjust your rearview mirror sitting normally as if you were actually driving.

done deal.......takes some getting used to, but spots are now covered.

I don't understand why people didn't learn to do their mirrors that way originally. Why doesn't driver's ed teach it that way??

I personally didn't learn that until I had been driving 5 years. Once I was taught that trick, I've loved it. You have ZERO blind spots in almost any car you drive if you do that.

When I first started learning road racing, that was the first thing they told us to do with our mirrors. 99% of the group had never heard it either. It's a real shame that it's not more common knowledge.

Cause there's no more driver's ed program in schools any more in some states, including mine.

Do you have to take a class somewhere? Like at a 3rd party company? That's what I had to do. I didn't do it at school, but took it at a local driving school.

I don't know. I haven't been in school in ages.

However, if teens do want to learn how to properly drive due to so many fatalities involving automobiles here, they have chosen third parties to teach them.
