Foggy Rear Windows

Every time it rains my rear windows get extremely foggy. Why, I have no idea. Of course I have tried everything: used rear defroster, AC on multiple temp settings opened windows (rain came in) tried heater, tried fox-ex, and of course even tried taking it to Acura! Of course Acura cant fix it, they could not reproduce the problem and said it was normal!

ive never had (or heard) of this problem. im guessing that your rear AC vents might be pointed up towards the rear window. it may be causing condensation. point them a little lower -- see if it works.

Have you tried cleaning them? - it could be an acumulation of the outsourced gases from a new car's PVC wiring - my wife left her rear defog on for hours and I fixed her "problem" with some windex.

Also, make sure your HVAC system is not in recirculate mode. That will definitely raise the moisture levels in the cabin.

Is that a cheese or a bloodsucking female insect? I prefer agent provacateur by the way.

I believe in the principle of Occom's Razor, and like to eliminate the obvious before embarking on a needless journey.

If Nicki says the back wiondow is clean, so be it.

Then, I think Southern Boy is on to it. The relative humidity where I live has been in the 90's! We are havng a centipede swarm.

Ever seen a Honda in winter that looks like a greenhouse inside? I have seen people literally swabbing their side windows with a kleenex - i want to scream "Recirc" but it would inevitably be followed by a shrug and then I would have to say "RTFM", and rather than be an agent provacateur, I let them go on, blissfully ignorant.

BTW, their a/c will start to smell musty, but that is another thread - remember TLGator?

For some reason the Japanses cars seem to be bottled up so tight that no air gets released from the car. I had a 99 Blazer and when the air was on inside, you could go outside and hear and fell the air comeing out vents in the back. That car never fogged up.
