Floor Mats
Floor Mats
Just recently purchased 04 TL Pearl Green w/parchment interior. Love the interior but it looks like it may be more difficult to keep the floor mats clean. Any recommendations for a darker floor mat?

why didn't you just ask them to throw the all-season mats in for free? if they don't do that, try to get it at cost...if not, go to some stores and check out ALL-SEASON FLOOR MATS (the rubber ones) becuase it does help the OEM floor mats from getting dirty and muddy....
When I purchased my TL, I did not want to put in the all-season floor mat, since my interior is light color, and we don't have snow here in my part of CA. However, I have had it (the all season floor mat) for a week because my TL was a show room model ( so equipped with it) and I bought it in the evening time, so the service dept was close, and the dealer just let me use it for a week and return in the following weekend. To be short, it seems good and match well with the interior, since the interior is two tones. So I bought one from the http://www.acuraparts247.com/sunnyside/jsp/home.jsp they sells TL stuffs in 20% off. So I just got mine the day before.
The aftermarket one won't fit well, specially the driver side, because the gas paddle is attached to the floor, instead of hanging from the wall, so the aftermarket one can't fit (I tried one from Kragan). Those (all-season) sold in Target also cost like $20 a piece, so added up is about the price of the acura one. So, go for the genuine one is better.

I wanna know why my floor mats in my Ebony interior, are a few shades darker than the carpeting. You know it's worse than that. I wonder if they accidently gave me Quartz carpeting. It's not nearly as dark as the carperting in my CL-S. I'll have to go back to the dealer and check that out. Hmmm..
Waymay,
There are some companys that do custom mats. You may want to get some from them in a slightly darker but matching color. I've seen them in a lot of catalogs and they can even be customized with logos, names etc. They aren't cheap but probably worth it in the long run. If I were you, I get a set of those. Put the ones that came with the car away and when you sell or trade the car put the originals back in. Your floorboards will look brand new! I believe you can get them from Griots Garage (www.griots.com) and many other companies. They will run you about $100 for the fronts. Do a search on the web, there are lots of places you can get them. It may be a while though before they have the patterns for the 04 TL.

My dealer threw in the winter mats front and back with other things. I don't think they were much over $100 list. If you are going to pay $100 for front mats on the web it wouldn't make sense to get the Acura ones from the dealer as you get 4 that are made for the car? Maybe he will give you a deal since you already bought the car?

The dealer will sell you the 4 floor mats that are made to fit in the car for $129. I have seen the same OEM's for $100 at www.hond**********.com . I have green/parchment and the all-weather black mats look great! The black matches a great deal of the interior.
I am buying a green pearl / with parchmentas well. I going to use the standard floor mats. When they get dirty I will use shampoo carpet cleaner to clean them up. After a few years I will buy a brand new set of floor mats. They have to be around the same cost as the all season floor mats.
I think going with the black all season floor mats really takes away from the car. It just doesn't match the light interior of the car!!!
A cheapier alternative is to go to K-mart and buy a set of clear plastic floor mats that go over the ones that you get with the car.
Buy a new set of floor mats after a few years or buy the clear plastic mats.

Now that winter is here it is a neded thing to have,
I`ve got Pearl White Navi 6spd with Parchment interior. And have the dealer all season black mats. They look pretty good offsetting the tan carpet and match the black dashboard and top door moldings.Put Tan Dealer mats in trunk and waiting for spring!!
