First Oil Change

I have just gone through my 1st oil change in my used 06 TL. MY question is the oil Percentage got down to about 10%. I may be crazy but I tought I felt the car driving differantly. It felt like the car was dialed back. When i got the oil changed it felt like the power was restored. Does the car dial the engine back when the oil is going bad or am I going crazy. Also for the first time I used Mobile 1 synth oil. I have never used synth oil in my cars before. Is this a good oil and is it worth the extra case. Thx

ok first oil change for an 06 should have been done before 07 because you are supposed to do it within 1 year even if the mid doesn't state it... since you did it already reset the mid...

Well since it is an used TL that you purchase, what kind of maintenance did the previous owner did? Usually, I felt a difference when I have a new oil change. It is like short term boost for the car, it will wear away in a couple of days.

Perhaps the fact you changed to Mobile1 may have given the car a new feel. I'm getting ready to do that myself. Break-in oil is at 30%.

my car idles more rough on initial start ups when the oil gets down to 20% and below...bad oil calls for poor performance.

It's possible the car had too much oil it in, which would put extra weight on the engine and cause the car to feel more sluggish.

Always check your oil level after an oil change (not RIGHT away, when the engine cools down) because shops aren't perfect and sometimes they will put the incorrect amount in there.
