First oil change

The MID told me that "service is needed soon" on Monday, so I finally got it in today, at 6439 miles. This was the first time since I took delivery on the car that I'd had it in for service. I had also developed the ubiquitous glovebox clicking noise just a couple of weeks ago, so I had it repaired today. I specifically brought up the seat memory issue and they were not aware of a fix or TSB as yet, but will let me know when the news disseminates.

Service dept. rep states that some people are finding the MID difficult to adjust to after being so programmed to the 3-5k mile oil change. I didn't, though with my last TL I was in the service booth about every six weeks for oil changes and major maintenance so everyone knows who I am and addresses me as "doc". I'll miss 'em as I plan to see the service department as little as possible with this car.

Still smiling after 5 months (as of next Wednesday) with the car!

Hey Doc, did you have to top off the oil at any time before the 1st oil change? I am close to 3k miles and the dipstick level is at about the halfway mark. I am not too worried as this is to be expected with break in. Just curious what others are experiencing. Thanks.

I had the clicking after a few weeks with the car, but it went away by itself, so I never addressed it. The clicking is really gone this time, only time will tell whether it comes back.
