After researching characterstics and temperatures of our as well other HID's I decided to go with a nice pair of 6000k's. Except, now I questioning my purchase, well at least this set of bulbs. They were so cheap compared to others that I couldn't resist myself.

Anyhow, are all hid bulbs the same, meaning color wise? Is the $200 set of 6000k's the same as the $50 one? I understand the life span might be little different, depending on how well its made but truly where is the major difference. If there is one, I truly don't mind since the total was under $40 with shipping

That's what I did when I got my 8000k HID bulbs. I got the cheapo ones. They were crazy blue for about a week and now they look like 6000k. If you want to have 6000k headlights that stay that way for the time they are in the headlights, get the expensive ones to make sure. Just my

I had eBay HIDs too. Lasted for about six months then one of the bulbs refused to burn. They looked nice though...

Put in a replica ZKW lens, don't buy cheap bulbs they color-shift very often. I have had 2 pair of cheapos-- the first was OK and the second pair shifted to blue green color. The base melted and distorted a little so it sits off center and makes the cutoff concave. IMO it is not worth it. Then again the first pair in mazda3 is going strong.
