First Compliment

Havent had the car a week and got stopped at 1:30 this morning by some car enthusiasts asking question and giving compliments at a traffic light. This car is a stunner. Just gonna have to get used to it I guess. Oh well..... :o

Yeah, like I've told a few people on here, I can't believe how many comments I'm hearing from people. It seems like every time I get gas, someone walks up to me to compliment it.

Don't leave your sunroof open with volume at 40. WAY too much attention.

Cool

Yes, it's amazing! :cool

I went to the Nissan dealer to service my Wife's Quest Van, and as soon as I pulled into the dealership 3 salesman turned their heads toward my Anthrasite TL - It's like they were looking at a ghost, they were not even blinking.

Then as soon as I parked the car, one of them (the brave one) came over and asked me to demo the TL for him, I let him seat on the driver seat and turned on the engine... you should have seen his face when he heard the engine growl and saw the 6 speed with all aluminum. His jaw dropped when I demo the Voice system and the Navigation... I just said "What time is it?"
and the car talked in his "male" voice.

He said "I want one NOW!"

Then on my way out, another salesman stopped me me with his hand (like a cop) - "hey dude, let me check those wheels!" - and I had to show the car once again.
He asked me how long have you had it for... I told him about 5 days and then they asked for the price (which is about the same as their Nissan SUV) I told him around 35k - they didn't wink.

It's a great experience to be one of the first to drive this car, I guess the first impressions are excellent on most people...

Try it, go to another dealership and look at their faces.....wow.
do it now, enjoy it before the car gets too common and older.

I think it's going to be another Best Seller!
:p

I auditioned the car to another stranger yesterday at the local post office. He was a businessman in a recent RL. He was backing out of his parking space when I saw him stop and stare at my car. He asked "how do you like it?"

Turns out the lease on his RL was almost up and he was considering a replacement. I showed him the interior, the navi, auditioned the sound system with the demo disc, and, if he hadn't been a stranger, probably would've taken him on a test drive . He was quite impressed. I basically told him, "don't wait a year for the replacement RL, just get this car."

Two days ago, some guy in a hooptie was honking at me at a stoplight, giving me the "thumbs-up". This car has gotten more attention than any I've ever owned in the past. I'm sure if I were single the car would be a chick-magnet.

I was stopped at a light talking to the radio and someone was banging on my window. I opened it and SHE asked what kind of car it was. The attention is somewhat nerve wracking.

Get used to it. It will probably be the same for at least a year and maybe more. The car looks good but is conservatively styled. It will be a looker ten years from now!

I was at a gas station and a guy came up and started asking questions about the TL. Said he was from Canada and was interested in the DVD audio. Then he noticed the clearbra. We were tying up the gas line for a few minutes before someone honked to remind us we weren't the only ones there.

Co-workers loved my car. I went into an AutoZone to pick up some stuff. I got out and got in my car to drive off when an AutoZone employee came running out and asked me to stop. I thought I had forgotten something.

I got out and he says "What is that?"
I said, "It's a TL".
He said "Who makes it?".
"Acura".
"I love the front end on that car - especially those lights. Nice car!"

The best was I droped my in-laws at BMW for service, the Sales Manager that I had talked to about a 3 series performance package asked if he could check it out, also was inpreseed with all the stuff, when he asked how much, an I told him, his mouth droped and gave me a second look, he asked for a ride and I took him on one, he was impressed but worried about the new 530!

I have yet to fill up with gas w/o someone commenting on it. That car is SWEET.. "is that the new 5", what IS it.. WOW that is fine.

We belong to a car club here in Atlanta and this sunday it made it's debut, blew away the club members, one said he will be trading in his 2001 740i for a new TL. gotta love it.

I too had a previous TL that never got a comment.

2 Points for Acura.

Too bad I just can't whole heartedly recommend it due to build quality.

I took the complaint list with me yesterday when I picked the car up and checked everything. No problems and believe me I really looked hard. Still looking, still nothing. Luck of the draw I guess. As long as they fix everything hopefully your problems will be short lived.
