Finally a true member and owner wed.. thanks everyone

This site has been amazing.. thats for all the help... I finally bought the 04 and not the 05 since there were not much changes & hardly any discounts on the 05 for anytime soon. Not to mention this is a weekend car and one I'll keep for a while, so resell value was not an issue. I was set on a white w/ quartz w/ navi so i found there were only 13 left in eastern coast, and the few dealers who had them didn't want to give them away so I called 22 dealers before I found 2 that had it on the lot and I could deal with.

I paid 32,720 - if I wanted any other combo, I could have gotten it for 32,500 ( yet I wouldn't be emotionally happy with it ) out of 22 dealers 3 of them went down to 32,800 but couldn't produce a car on site... they'd have to look, 32,720 was the best deal.

I opted to get the body side modling ( friggin shopping carts ) & Mud guards so I don't get the nice mud streaks ( included in price )

For 600 more I got the upgraded alarm, with remote start (they make another key), and a key fob with a car lcd and tells you if the alarm is going off. Insurance didn't pay to get lo jack and I'd rather not know my car is gone after the fact..

in total w/ new plates and taxes 8.25 (2,700) - $35,571

I think I got a good deal...

I left the lot on wed night to play....

More reasons to get a 2005. Do you really think that you saved anything?

Not a great deal considering how slow car sales have been lately. Three hours ago I bought a new Lexus RX330 with everything known to God and man for invoice-i.e.-over $4200 off msrp.. If I were someone who liked to haggle I could have gotten even better. Don't let the upscale dealers con you. Their cars aren't flying off the lot either.

Congrats on your buy. You got a good deal considering you were specific on color combo and the dealer needed to find one for you. Enjoy!

Don't rain on the guy's parade. Most dealers in NY aren't going to get their 05s for another week or 2 so he gets to play early. Also, until the first '05s roll off the lot, we won't know EXACTLY how much they're going for. Probably between $33,500 to $34,500 in the NY area. For people like Wjpetz who are going to keep their cars more than 5 years, the resale diff between 04 and 05 will not be more than $500.

You need to look at the market. The dealer that I bought my TL at only has ONE 04 Navi left on the lot with another week or 2 before the 05s get here. They don't need to slash and burn on the pricing if their inventory is depleted. Plus, Wjpetz got close to invoice considering everything he got added in. Pretty much the same as the invoice deal on your RX330 (Toyota just likes to add alot between Invoice and MSRP prices).

Thanks Brokedoc...

Just got 3.64 % on the 30k loan.. so that's nothing a year for 5 years! Not to mention, this dealer is 20 min away with Sat hours for their service department.. Instead of driving a few hours to hastel another dealer on a few bucks.
