Finally Started my Mods
First of All, I would like to give a big "shout out" to all fellow TL owners. I've been reading these threads for weeks on end now.
I began my car shopping looking for a used BMW 540 spring of this year.
As I shopped around the new 2006 330I came out. I test drove a manual and automatic and was sold. Needless to say I fell in love. I thought the new 330I was the best 3 series yet. I never liked them until this latest model.
On a whim, I drove by the Acura dealer to test drive the new TL, which I always liked, but saw so many on the road. Today I can say it was one of the best spontaneous decisions I ever made.
In my opinion the BMW cannot touch the TL in terms of value, luxury, style and performance in terms of a 4 door sedan. I also saved numerous bucks with which im starting my mods in the following order.
1. Swapping out all factory speakers for JL audio and adding a JL audio 500 watt amp with direct IPOD hookup (none of that FM modulator crap).
I know, I know. The TL sound system in terms of quality is very nice, but I need a little more "a$$" in my music. Also, I think Acura really dropped the ball by not having a MP3 player. I did not even bother to ask because I thought ALL cars had them now.
2. DPE R05 Variant S wheels (18x8 wth 245/40-18). I may change this due to cost. But damn, those wheels are exactly what im looking for. I'm one to believe if you are going to do it, then do it right.
3. Comptech Catback exhaust. I would love to keep the OEM exhaust tips though. Any suggestions
4. I don't know "crap" about lowering so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
5. I have a friend who has about 1000 hp in his camaro and keeps trying to talk me into the comptech supercharger.
I will post pics as soon as my baby has been detailed.

Congrats and welcome to the family!!!
As you might have noticed from hanging around the forum for a few weeks, there are tons of people here that can offer suggestions/answers to pretty much any questions you might have.

congrats on the new ride
as for the Comptech Exhuast Tips, you can always saw the tips off of ur stock exhaust and have them welded onto the CT Exhaust but be careful because they could be put on crooked so make sure the shop you go to is reputable...
as for lowering your car, there are 2 roads you can take, Coilovers or Springs, alot of people have found that the A-Spec suspension is one of the best investments that they have ever made, at 700 dollars for the set thats pretty steap, but then there are just the springs, the Tein S Techs are cheap they are like 120 for the springs which is probably the best deal u can find on ebay, although springs won't last as long as coilovers so if you have the money it might be best to invest in the coilovers if your keeping your car for awhile, if not, springs might be a good idea for a lease or a 4 year ownership. hope this helps. as for the comptech supercharger, it isn't out yet, and knowing comptech it probably won't be out for another year or so lol. and it still won't be that great of an investment, because it is too much power on the front end, youll end up replacing engine parts like crazy. so think about it, you should instead invest in an INTAKE and COMPTECH REAR SWAY BAR along with the EXHAUST and maybe some hyperground wires. but hope all this helps good luck with ur TL

), I've decided to go the spring route.... I'm going with the Eibach Pro-kit (about $180 on Ebay).

Couple of questions Answerer
To "JMBNOVA".
I live near Manassas (about 5 minutes). Im still looking for a good shop. I've found once on the web in Maryland and another in Springfield. I take good recommendations to heart so let me know what other shops you recommend for work.
To "JURONIMO"
MY install is scheduled for Sept 13. I also purchased the JL audio "clean sweep". It allows direct auxiliary hookup of DVD, IPOD, etc withouth "screwing" with the factory head unit. Its pretty sweet.

If anyone wants to see a sample of thier work, PM me with an email address and I will send you a zip file with pictures.
