Finally bought it. ABP w/Navi

After months in this forum, reading over threads, viewing photos, etc, I finally bought my new TL. ABP/Quartz. I even bought the Navi, which I initially didn't want. Why? Because it looks cool and really that is it. I think the main reason I opted for the Navi was the upper display area. I was seriously considering the G35 and I discovered I liked the climate control temp., etc in the eyebrow on the dash. I liked it so much when I drove a TL with out the Navi it seemed empty up there. I know I will enjoy the other features of the Navi like the nice radio controls, and voice commands, once I figure it out.

Also, so many people ask, "what color should I get" I would read those too because I just wasn't sure. I love the parchment interior, and since the last 5 cars I have owned had that interior it isn't any wonder. But I saw the ABP/Quartz and really liked it. I had outright dismissed the quartz or ebony up to the last day. But I drove one with ebony interior and actually liked it. So I decided to be more open about my options and settled on this combo.

So thanks to this forum, which really is terrifiic. Later I will post some photo's of my car and hope my few postings will help someone else in making their selections.

Welcome to the forum. You did you homework and made a good decision with the navi and color. Enjoy.

Great decisions on color & navi.

I just talked some friends ino getting Navi on an MDX a few weeks ago. They had to take a 2K round trip that is currently in progress. Called me from a small city on the way to find out how to locate a resturant and motel. I suspect there will be another big navi fan when they return. Hope your first road trip totally converts you too, welcome.

Congrats!!

I luv my quartz interior as well as the navi.

Drove from NJ to Arlington, VA for the innaguration had no idea how to get there all I had was an address and it got me there no problem. Never even looked at a map...aside from the Metro map of DC yet was able to drive around the entire weekend with no problem because of the Navi...well with the exception of Dupont Circle...what a mess!??!

Should have gone with Ebony...

I was torn between Quartz and Ebony because I REALLY do not like the wood look and the light interior. Since my last car was Quartz-like inside and I drove it for 10 years, I was looking for something different. Hail to the Carbon Fiber!

Welcome to the TL club. This forum is very helpful. You need to consider changing your door and interior lights now to LEDs. $20-$30 and 1/2 hour is all you need for a great mod.

Congrats on the purchase.
I too almost didn't go with Navi since I've never had a car that did have it. I figured I wouldn't miss it. The wife talked me into it and I'm sooooo glad she did.
Took it to Auburn, AL for a football game and it worked perfectly. Couldn't be happier with it.

Congratulations. Great car, great color combo. I also labored over the Navi decision. We ended up getting it and it's been helpful many times. I'm not sure it was worth the $3k premium (better discounts on the non-navi) over the non navi but I'm happy.

Enjoy.

Well, I am not sure it is worth the premium either, but it is done now. I think down the road (literally) I will be happy that I made the choice. I know this is a frequent question on here too, people wondering if they should get the Navi. It is so feature rich and there is so much there to interact with, that if that is something you find enjoyable then there will be no regrets.

Either way it's a great car.
