A few qestions; I'm new
Hello everyone I'm new. Question 1. My tl does not have rubber molding around the rear window, both sides and the top. Is this normal. Question 2. My insurance went up $900.00 per year. My wife and I have an excellent driving record, (an were older) we had a 99 Accord LX 4cyl. Has anyone else had this problem thanks for your help.

I don't have an answer for your 1st question but will admit that my soon to be delivered TL will cost about $350 more to insure than my 97 Camry V6 living in metro Boston. The TL is considered a high theft vehicle esp. in the previous generations where that HID headlights were stolen and significant fender and hood damage occurred. Plus the car is cost more so, the insurance companies pay out more if the car is stolen or has significant damage in an accident.

It depends how the insurance company indicates the TL as.
It depends how the insurance indicates the TL as what model. Since a 2004 TL has only one model, but from the previous generation, it had two types. I am guessing the insurance company is using your TL as a type-s model. Previous generation type-s costs more to insure than the regular TL. Ask your insurance what model does the TL indicates for 2004 and if they are giving u choices, then tell it is the regular model, not type-s. I ask my insurance company how much does it cost me for the 2004 model. They ask me regular or type-s too.

My '04 TL was cheaper to insure than my '00 RL.
There is rubber molding *inside* the windows, not outside as in other cars. The plus to this is that it looks sleeker on the exterior. The downside is that rainwater will leave dirt stains on the inside between the door and the rubber molding.

Insurance depends on where you live and your record. An older friend has a 2 year old Ford Focus, perfect driving record and is paying the same as me. Is he ever pissed off. Ha ha ha.

My insurance (full coverage, large limits, low deductable) on the new TL is about $700 per year. I changed to AIG from GEICO where I had been for twenty years when AIG's quote was half of GEICO's.
I'm a "mature" driver with no claims or tickets.
