Falling headliner question

Mine just fell-it is not so bad as the gap is only about 1/8" or less. When I examined the area where the double-sided tape is located, I did not see any velcro stuff there. I know some of you talked about this before. Did you guys add velcro on your own or was it supposed to be there? All I see is a small piece of white double sided tape, a kind that is found on the back of towel hanger, etc.

The white double sided tape is the velcro. The white part is the adhesive that is supposed to stick to the metal bar, but which came loose. You can separate this piece from the piece attached to the headliner, and then epoxy it to the metal bar.

I took Ron's advice, bought some epoxi glue at Target ($3.99), and re-attached the headliner. It worked like a charm. I am glad I saved a trip to a local dealer not to mention prevending a mechanic making a big mess in my car. Thanks for your help!

I am not sure if this has been stated here before, but I noticed that the 2003 Accord coupe has the headliner problem as well. Today, I drove my friend's car and saw, for the first time, the falling headliner. The one in my TL is still holding well though.

Falling headliner

Hey at list I'm not the only one, this is very sad for a car like this one which cost 35,000 dollars and they put only a 3.00 chip ass velcro tape from target. I have took mine with today 4 times and as soon as I leave the dealer the headliner comes back down. Do you guys think that the epoxy will work? Because they put some glue on mine and didn't work for nothing. Please Advise........

Where?

I been reading a lot about this headliner problem. I've seen the pictures of the gap. My question is, where is it drooping? Is it by the moonroof?

Thanks for your info. I noticed it rattles sometimes on rough roads. I'll check the headliner on my way home tonight...

I am having the same headliner issue. I have tried Krazy Glue the velcro to the metal bar. This solution has not worked very well. I guess that Krazy Glue has met its match.

The Driver side and Middle velcro strip do not want to stick to the metal bar.

I have decide to let ACURA fix the problem on the next service visit.

Headliner is the material that covers the inside of the roof of the car. Look up when driving, and you will see it!! Don't use krazy glue or any of those instand glue products...they just don't have the lasting holding power you need for a problem like this...use epoxy..it works!!
