Not sure why after so many months, but the fake lip spoiler fell off my car today

No scratches or anything that I saw... maybe it was the heat that caused the tape to come loose?

 

Could have been bad tape or improper preparation or any number of things.

Get some of that good tape in Home Depot, clean everything really good, and stick it back on. I don't remember the thread it was in right now but you can do a search. If you can't find it, I am sure someone will remember and post it.

 

I think it was the 3M heavy duty tape that was talked about in that thread.

I am not sure, but I am thinking about putting the wing spoiler on since this came off. I will wait and think about it for a little while.

 

At least it didnt fall off on the highway, then you would have a lawsuit for whichever sorry bastard lost his head . The lip looks more professional, the wing more sporty. If you dont have a body kit I would say get a realy LIP from acura, but both look great. Heat does screw around with tape, so watch out.

it did get suddenly hot and sunny. was it parked outside in direct sunlight??

i actually like the wing spoiler, especially with the bodykit. i say sell the lip spoiler and get the wing spoiler.

is the spoiler gone? how did you notice it fell off? I had a dream that mine got stolen.

 

My bad, but once i read this thread i read his new one , so I knew he only had a few minor cuts, cut you are right, the person is more important then the car, a car can be replaced.

 

I took the origianal tape off the fake lip spoiler and applied my own broad/wide layer of 3M super duty double stick foam tape ... it's still solid as a rock after nearly 5 or 6 months ... heavy winter and heavy heat .. tons of rain, sleet, hail exposure, etc.

it's all about creating that broad, waterproof layer of double stick tape so that moisture does not seap under the spoiler.

 

That explains why the factory one is bolted on.
