Going to be getting an Acura TL in July. I really like the lip on the TL. So the question is to get it installed by the factory/dealer or just get it off of eBay? It seems pretty easy to install and I have used eBay many times in the past. From what I have read, the installation is just dual sided tape, is this right? Does the lip stay on through car washes and everything? I think the factory/dealer lip is drilled. Thanks!

 

When I asked my dealer about the lip, I'm pretty sure he said I could come back anytime and get it and that it would hardly take them any time to "stick it on". The wing is drilled, though... I'm patiently waiting for my eBay lip...

Ebay lip. It's easy to install and way cheaper. I've had mine on for 4 months with no problems. It's been through several car washes and New England storms.

 

I voted factory because I don't want to be the only one that got taken to the cleaners and paid $436 for a little strip of plastic....lolol ;-)

 

I got mine about 3 months ago - no problems yet. I love it.

my ebay lip worked out great.
it came shipped from canada to chicago for about $170ish and took me and a couple of buddies (to help make sure all was even and level during install) minutes to install.
you may want to use a heat gun to help things stick... and try not to wash your car too soon after the install

 

For those who got the lip from ebay and installed it themselves.... was there any drilling?

I purchased my lip spoiler from acura and installed it myself....along with the double-sided tape, there were also 2 holes that needed to be drilled into the trunk lid... Lip is also held on by (2) 10mm bolts...

Just trying to clarify for anyone reading this post that may be confused....

Does the ebay lip looks exactly like the original Acura dealer's lip? which ebay seller did you get it from? And for how much? I am always scared of getting it on ebay and might look weird when its gets installed.
