Thanks VMT for the video! It'll come in handy when I replace my cup holder since the sliding door snapped in two.

little help guys please. I took off the silver molding around the stereo (only on the drivers side) and now the HVAC buttons are kind of loose. I don't know what I did, I didn't hear a snap or anything like that and now I am tripping i broke something expensive. Please let me know what could it be. I didn't take the whole thing apart yet and I don't want to really, just trying to get to the back of the radio

I did the same thing. I took of the passenger silver trim piece to clean it and when I put it back on, just the 4 bottom ac control buttons don't light up. I'm not sure if it is just a coincidence that they went out at that time or if I did something wrong, but I would hate to replace all the bulbs if it is something simple.

^^Not to sure what happened there...The best way is to continue removing all the parts carefully. If the buttons are a bit loose, no worry you'll be able to find the issue once all the parts will be removed....

As for the bulbs, maybe the shake didnt help. I had to replace all my bulbs anyway a year ago and my TL is a 2004. Make sure to order the bulbs before removing the dash and you'll be able to change them at the same time

in order to get to the back of the radio, pretty much everything has to come apart. i think you might have snapped the 2 plastic pieces that holds the upper part of the trim, it took me a while to get them out since they were so tight.

which HVAC button is loose? or are they all loose on that side?

Like I said, by removing everything, you'll be able to find what went wrong and Im pretty sure nothing broke since you didnt here anything suspicious. It takes some courage I know to get this done, but once you've done it, its piece of cake

A huge thanks for all these videos. The hardest part was the upper vent for me. It required quite a bit of force to push it up and off.

Fixed. Done. Added as F-051 since it was more than just the aluminum strips or center console.

Thanks for the PM to Steven to get this fixed.

Does the center console come apart? Specifically, is it possible to take apart the rear vents in the console? One of my sliders is broken and I want to see if I can fix it.

Wow, seems like A LOT of work, but pretty straight forward. I just spent two days replacing two rear door actuators in my '05 TL. Wasn't too hard, but a PITA getting the assembly out and back in when I was done.

Last night I noticed that two lights around my navi were out, and it looks like I have to go through all of this just to replace two stupid bulbs because Acura chose to use cheap bulbs instead of LED's. I may do it this job, or just let the dealer to worry about it when I trade it in.

I wanted to keep this car for good, or at least for well over 100k miles (59,000 now), but there are just way too many quality issues with this thing.

The door actuators were just the latest in a long line of issue with my TL; I think it's just best I get rid of it while I can still get a pretty good trade in value for it.

Regardless of if I fix this or not, looks like this will be my first and last Acura.

You dont need to. Just remove the two screws inside the armrest under the plastic cover and the ones up top by the cup holders and you'll be able to side the armrest back a few inches.
