Extra Button?

Ok, hope I don't get flamed for this...

next to the VSA button and the mirror controls there's a space for another button ( I have a AM 5AT non-navi) I was just curious what goes in this spot? Does it have something to do with the Navi?

There are always Qs about that. I think a start button would be cool to stick in there. I assume you don't have nav, but no, it doesnt have anything to do with that.

Just an extra slot. Nothing goes there (from the factory at least). I've seen people put a foglight switch there, or their radar detector volume button, etc. etc.

Lot of times they leave extra room for future upgrades in future year models, Like AWD in 2007

The VSA button is on the left of the mirror controls, it is partially visible...

It's for the optional Passenger Eject feature. Sometimes called the mother-in-law button.

No AWD for 07, it will be on the next model.

Is it for the BUS volume control?

I see, makes the outline more mysterious- there's one on the RL, too, in a similar spot...

After further research and a trip to the hospital(no no not for me, to interview the triage nurse, they see lots of TL related injuries of this type since there are so many on the road) I have found it IS NOT a glory hole, or should at least not be used as such.

That space is for those in Canado who buy TL's and have the daytime running light requirement.

srhewes,

Not true actually... the DRLs come on automatically in Canada. The whole point is that it's law that they always be on, you can't turn them off. My space was empty also. It now has a blinking blue LED from my alarm system.

Call me lazy, but I prefer the sun roof button there, I hate moving my arm all the way up. A possible project?

i think that is a great spot for volume control if you get the JL Audio clean sweep. Saw someone on here place it there.
