Extended WarrantyOn '06TL ?
So - this weekend I am looking to go out and pick up a new '06TL Navi . My question is - should I buy an extended warranty? For the last 12 years I have bought a new GM car every year as I had employee pricing available to me (and still do ... yet I'm going Acrua this time - what's that tell ya about GM quality and service ). As such, I have never even considered and extended warranty, however, I plan on keeping the TL 5+ years. Given all the electronics etc on the car it seems like it might be a good move. What are your thoughts on this.
As a slight aside, Canadian TL owners - who did you get your warranty from and how long does it run / what was the approximate cost? TIA .

For 06 all Acuras have 6 years/70,000 miles warrenty for powertrain instead of 4yrs/50,000. I got the extended warrenty for my 06 TL. Paid $1950 to extend to 8 yrs/100,000 miles $0 deductible. I got it because im going to keep my car for a long time.
You can get a better deal by buying online from hondacuraworld.com and i dont think your dealer can match that but im not sure if they will sell to people in Canada. I didnt know about that site when i got my TL so i ripped off when i got the extended warrenty from my dealer

The factory warranty is a limited warranty - the extended warranty is a full warranty that'll cover almost anything, including certain wear and tear items.
Try curryacuracare.com - if you call up they will give you a $100 disct too usually...so you can get the 7yr 100k $0 ded for $1160 i believe
PS - to WHATJONES911 - You can cancel your extended warranty with the dealer at any time and get a prorated amt of what is left, and then you could sign up through a cheaper place and the warranty would start from your current mileage ( I think you have to have under 40k miles usually...but check it out)

If they did not make money on them, they would not sell them.
That leads me to believe that, in most cases, a well-maintained car will cost you less in the long run.
Don't even get me started on TADTS (they all do that, sir). As if it's okay for a car to have a defect if it's universal to that model.
