Extended Warranty ??'s
This morning i got a call for a company claiming to be the ONLY warranty company that acura deals with. Dealer Services orDealer Warranties or somthing like that. They said that this is the only warranty that the dealership will except. BLah Blah blah. They said for 4/48k it would be $2200 with my military discount. Do any of you guys have a warranty from this place?
Where do you guys have your extended warranty through? How much etc, etc....thanks

4/48k for $2200 is a rip-off. I got the extended up to 6/75k for $1090 which was a rip-off and canceled it for a full refund.
I think somewhere around 6/100k for $600 is a good price but don't quote me on it. And I think most people get them from acurahondaworld.

Here's how I look at it- I self-insure. If this Acura- this precision driving machine built solidly on Honda's long-standing reliability reputation- needs a $1500+ repair (not preventive, like timing belt, but repair) before it gets to 100k, then I'll stop buying Acura, and go back to GM.
All things considered, if reliability is the same and crappy, I'd rather my money go to Americans.

I have been wondering about some of these extended warranties as well. Just not exactly sure how they work on a used car. My last two cars were brand new, so it was pretty simple. Any warranty you buy starts that day.
So if I get a 48m/48k extended from hondacuraworld.com, for a 2005 with up to 50k miles, does that mean I have that coverage from the date of purchasing the warranty? Or does that mean that at the end of this year I am out of warranty since I will have more than 48k miles and be more than 4 years old?

Some guy from warrantyworld.com called me and said they would do a 3 yr/36k warranty for 2199.00. I told him he was too high and that other places half longer terms for less then half. He put me on hold and some other douche picked and said that he would cut to the chase and it would only be 1599. I offered 500, he said no way and hung up on me. F'ng jerk.

Acura extended warranty starts at the time the car was first put into service by the original owner. A 2004 that was put into serivce May 2004 would be covered unti May 2011, or 100K miles, whichever comes first. The Honda/Acura warranty can be used at any of their Acura dealerships.

Any Acura dealership
If the Honda/Acura extended warranty offers coverage for and 4yr/48K miles then it would be added to the 4 yr/50K factory warranty.

honda is the only warranty company honda supports and deals with. dealers use their own after-market companies which can be bad or good. If you do not live in FL, talk to tim (tim can't sell in FL since it's regulated to local dealers here ) and he can get you the best pricing on one
