Extended Warramty

Just wondering how many people purchase the extended warranty offered by the dealer or by their credit unions when you guys buy ur new cars.

Do you guys buy any other protection type things besides the add-on accessories?

Personal Preference, if you think you need it then get it. But you can negotiate them... Dont buy without haggling, and dont let them tell you they cant cuss thats BS! If you are going to purchase a warranty, I suggest getting it from the dealer, Acuracare is good i heard.

[QUOTE=amarpawar]Just wondering how many people purchase the extended warranty offered by the dealer or by their credit unions when you guys buy ur new cars.

I use geico insurance, and for something like 6 dollars every six month, I have an extended 7 yrs, 70, 000 mile warranty.
I can have the car fixed anywhere. AT acura, or anywhere of my choosing. They submit the bill, it gets approved, and they get reimbursed. They can use original acura parts and everything.
It doesnt cover, disposables, such as brakes, tires, the ususal.
One of my reasons for using geico insurance. You cant beat that price for the extended.

Its always better to buy the extended warranty on your own and not from the dealer. There's many places that sell it, you just have to look around for em. Some are good and some suck, so make sure you find out how their claims are from other people before you buy.

I declined every extra option on the closing table. Dealer added options like spoilers and stuff can all be added later on for the same cost unless they throw it in at a good deal.

I've had Lojack in my other car for 4 years and its too expensive for what you get i think. Especially since you cant really do squat with it if you want to get rid of the car. I'm in that position right now, i cant transfer it to a new car or a new owner.

Hey Spool, so how r u liking ur new TL? Man, Bell Acura jacked me man...that Jed guy is a total ********. I am so pissed but looks like I might be happy again...will let you know...how does 06 6spd Black on Black with NAVI sound..might be happening tommorow. Thanks for your price point I mentioned it to another dealer 37,200 OTD and he agreed to match it...so hopefully that's a good deal. I am going to have the A-spec put on as well.

I like it a lot! I'm on my 3rd fill of gas and up to 1000 miles in 11 days

It sounded like a good deal to me, I honestly feel that was a fair cost considering they just hit the lots. Who are you using, Lou?

We'll have to meet up sometime. My mom lives up in Flagstaff too so we'll have to keep in touch!

Good luck tomorrow, be strong and dont fold if they try throwing anything extra on. If its Scottsdale Acura, I dont think they play that game anyway. If you talk to Lou, tell him Rick was wondering about getting his deposit back

Have you had any personal experience as to how long it would take to submit a claim and get re-imbursed for it. I have heard it could take months OTOH Acura warranty is instanteneous. This is what I have heard.

I was offered 1115 fro 7yr /100000 and 185 for $2500 tire and rim protection for 5 yrs.

Actually I went down to Tucson. Dude Jonathan Bennett is great. Deal was straight up form the time I got there. 37200 for the car and 5800 + tax for the A-spec installed. They did try to sell me the 7yr/100000 mile extended warranty ( not John but Chad in the bussiness office) for $2000 but I brought it down to $1115 + I got tire and rim protection (for upto $2500) for $185.

I am actually driving my 06 BLACK ON BLACK 6 SPEED NAVI TL, that looks blue in the fluorescent street lights. I am soooooo excited.

John also promised me a free service incase I were to go down there (including when I go down to get the A-spec installed).

So who ever wants to buy a 06 with navi for 37200 OTD, John said he'd honor that + the waranty and stuff

I have no personal experience with using the geico extended warranty, as I have never had need to use it, but I can tell you, is that I have been using geico since I was seventeen, and my parents have been using them for thirty years, and they have always treated our family top notch with any situations. My Dad is always on top of such things, and would not stay with a company he was not happy with. My parents had cars that were stolen, as well as cars that were hit , while vehicle was parked on street, and geico always came through fast.
Even when I first put insurance under my own name, because I was initially listed as an occassional driver on their policy, they did not make me go on assigned risk for my first policy, and gave me good rates. If it wasnt for them, I would have been paying at least triple for my premiums.
So, while I have no experience with the extended warranty, I do not expect to have any problem if the time should come.
And as far as taking months , I dont believe it. Geico does not want to start spending storage fees, etc. I have used them for regular collission issues and I got my vehicle repaired at my choice of place, quickly, and with no fuss.
Those quotes are they from geico? What do those amounts represent?
Much regards
