Engine mounts for 6spd manual

Hi guy, I have a crack on my side mount and wondering if I should change all of them or just that one? Everything seem to be smooth and no clunks when going over bumps. so not sure if they are broken are not. I have about 88k miles on the car.

Also has anyone used these mount before
Fits 2004 2008 Acura TL 3 2L Engine Motor Mount Set 5pcs for Manual Trans | eBay and attest to there durability. I'm sure I gonna get raped for Acura mounts here in Canada and the one from Rock Auto are kinda expensive after shipping

Im gonna tackle this and some other maintenance right when I finish helping my brother-in-law with his Reno project

Thanks in advance

I dont think it was from that specific seller, but I do have experience buying eBay engine mounts for a 2007 V6 Accord I used to own. Myself and others in the Accord forum who also purchased the mounts were very pleased with the product

Make sure you are checking the mount and not the boot cover. If the side mount is in fact crack or damage, most likely the front mount is shot too. Either way, I would inspect all 3 mounts.

These probably don't have any vacuum ports on them where some of the OE mounts will. Not an expert on the mounts but I think the only difference between AT and MT are the transmission mounts so I think the MT still has vacuum controlled engine mounts. You can always cap off the unused vacuum lines if needed but just wanted you to be aware of the potential difference between your link and OE mounts so you could weigh pros and cons of each

I got mine on EBay from this seller. They were identical to OEM and so far so good...

Do we know who makes the Acura engine mounts?? I know Beck/Arnley makes a lot of the stock Acura parts but what about the mounts? Reason I am asking is that Rock Auto has Beck/Arnley mounts for less than what Acura charges.

6spd only has vacuum on the rear mount.
Only replacing side mount is not a problem. 6spd front mounts are not vacuum and usually last longer than 5AT

This is not true - the 6MT does have a vacuum port on the front mount. I just replaced my front mount (and side, haven't touched the rear) and there was a vacuum hose attached to the existing mount, coming from the car.

WDPanda - please stop providing bad information to the forums. I already corrected this in another post of yours...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the MT's front mount DOES NOT have a vacuum line. I was there when Paul replaced it. The rear does have a vacuum line however.

Don't Buy Engine Mounts From This Seller!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221903229492?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
No Vacuum hose nozzle on the bottom like the original, and what's really worse, Paul had to drill out all 5 mounting holes to make them bigger so they'd all fit into place! Vibrations were smoother after he got it in, but still ........

I called the number on the invoice, got a woman that could barely speak English who told me to only contact them through ebaY. Wish I bought from the same seller in the OP's post above, the seller I got the front mount from.

Hmmm that is weird the acura oem posts a vacuum line near the front but no indication that it plugs up under the front mount like it shows in the rear. A few people who have changed it said there was none on the front.
If so, they must have had an aftermarket mount when they changed it and the vacuum line plugged off.
So what's the conclusion?

That's what I read in another thread here. One guy who is a Honda Tech, was saying that the 6spd mount are not hydraulic and solid mounts and last a lot longer. And most everyone else was saying If my mount where broken I would know from the the weird noise and rough Idle. Even thought there is a visible crack in the rubber on the side mount. Everything is still smooth.

Hi DMZ from this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/problem...mounts-931949/ it looks like you been using the mount I posted a link too for a while now. Any updated reviews on them? They seem to carry the same product number to the DEA mounts found at rockauto. Wondering if Max Motor is OEM for DEA.

I installed the front motor mount on my TL 3 weeks ago and there is a 1/8" hose coming from the car that was plugged into the front OEM motor mount that I believe was original to the car. So I unplugged it, installed the new OEM mount that also had a nozzle for this hose, and have been driving since.

DMZ - you've seen more on cars than I ever will, so I respect your expertise. Just sharing my recent experience. I would take a picture but that would mean taking off all of the plastic shielding under the car...

WDPanda - no conclusion. My apologies to you, if I'm wrong.

The front mount for A/T's does have a vacuum line, M/T's don't.

After confirming with my buddy who works for Honda of America, the M/T front mount does have a vacuum line. Its display in the link I provided before.

My side mount was completely toast. Torn (more like shredded) and easy to move around by hand once it was off the car. My front mount was actually in pretty good shape when I pulled it. Not perfect, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting based on the condition of the side mount. I would not have replaced it if I didn't already go through the trouble of taking it out and buying the replacement.

BTW, it did have a vacuum line (2005 6mt)

Our XLR8 engine mounts are stronger than the oem mounts. They feature polyurethane bushings and use mild steel for the mounts. Our mounts aren't vacuum activated, so we recommend plugging the line and tucking it away in case you ever go back to stock.

We have our mounts available for $300 right now for the full set!

Maybe the 2004 didn't have the vacuum line, and the 2005+ did. I believe DMZ is showing his OEM part, and we all know they made some changes between 2004 and 2005 TLs...
