i tried to search for a few results but nothing came up that i found helpful, i was wondering if there is a step by step DIY on how to remove the emblems because i was planning on painting my emblems black but couldnt find the diy thread, if there is one just post it and mods can close this thread. thankk you

 

Do you want to remove the rear "acura and TL" emblems?
If so, then just heat them up with a hair fan and pull them off with tooth floss or fishing line.

The "A" emblem on the back has 2 holes behind it, I would suggest to cover them up with electric tape, while you're getting it painted.

Another suggestion - after I removed the emblems on my car, I could still see the TL and the Type S faintly on the trunk, that helped a lot when putting the emblems back on.

How do you get to the bolts to take off the "A" i just wanna paint it and put it back on...

^Those are the instructions for installing the gold Acura emblems, but they include instructions on removing the existing ones, both front & back.

 

It only says you have to use string around the A? I guess you just pop it off? I dont get it people say there are holes so I dont know what the deal is

 

There are 2 posts that come off the emblem and are held in place by 2 clips with foam gaskets to prevent leakage. Use floss to unseat the adhesive and pop the emblem off. If the clips do not come out of the trunk, use needle nose pliers to gently remove them from the holes. If you cannot replace the emblem immediately or are removing it permanently, cover the holes with electrical tape to prevent any rust from starting until you can fill the holes in (or replace the emblem).
