Emblem Problem

Well I recently got a Tl-S about 5 days ago on my b-day and as I go to clean the inside of it today while its in the garage I notice the Type-S emblem missing. I called two dealers and they both said that someone probably stole it. So now I have to get a new emblem which is close to $100. Anyone else have this problem and know if the warranty will cover it?

HOLY CRAP. A $100 !!

I'll sell ya mine "TL-S" Emblem for $60. Shipped next day anywhere CONUS.

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal

Edit - Warranty doesn't cover theft and I'd pay the $100 before I'd lie about. Of course charging $100 is theft too. That part is ~$30.

Of course it was there, I look at it every time before getting in
Just really annoys me that people would steal it... Dealers said ppl with TL's put it on theirs so idk...
Another question the car is suppose to come with an alarm but how come i can practically rip off a handle and run into the car but alarm won't go off. The panic button on the remote is only way I've started the alarm...

Because it's not an "alarm"; It' an engine immobilizer.

About the alarm, I got the alarm to go off is to lock the door with the remote. And if some one opens the door (from the inside out) or brakes the window to manualy open it then it would sound. I found this out when a friend of mine was sleeping in the car and I didnt want to leave her alone so I lock the doors. I went in to the store to grab a drink and as I walked out she woke up unlocked the door and the alarm sounded. All in all the factory alarm sucks.

IMO, I just think the stealership just forgot to put the badge on. I dont think ppl steal emblems anymore. It was a problem back in the day but that kind of stuff sorta stoped. Well thats what I think.

sunny, congrats on the new car and welcome to the forums. sad to see that someone yanked that out of your car. try and explain the situation that you didn't notice it at the time of delivery and the car should have come with it. maybe they can go half on it at least? good luck.

yeah "dude" I did..........there are 2 Type S emblems and it was hard to tell which one he was talking about, since he never said which one.

The trunk emblem is $30.00 - that is nowhere near $100

Part Number #75722-SEP-A62 EMBLEM, RR. (TL & TYPE-S) 2007 TL PRICE $30.00

The dealer won't put an emblem back on the car? Doesn't make sense for a trunk badge.

Sorry to thread jack, but "stillhere153" if he takes the "type S" emblems i will take the italics "TL" emblem. I debadged my car and decide to put back the "TL" emblem. Back to the thread, sucks that someone here jack the type s, so now a civic, accord, etc will be a type S around your hood.

I don't understand this "entitlement" thinking. It's his car and if the badge was stolen, his problem, not the dealer's. If you want a new badge, you go buy one and move on.

It sucks that it was stolen - I get that. But you gotta be realistic. Say you've got $50 in your wallet. Someone steals the $50, but leaves the wallet. Do you go back to the bank and expect them to replace the $50?

Or worse, do you go out and mug or rob somebody else for THEIR $50? WTF is wrong with you people?

Steve - nice of you to go find a lowest cost OEM replacement.

I agree with your post BC94......yeah it sucks but things happen - this is the world we live in. You can't go running back to the dealer for every litle thing that happens and expect them to fix it without any questions.

I like the JDM style one - that would be my choice for replacement if I had a Type-S - would look great on NBP too....
