ECU automatically adjusts throttle?

Ok, I did a search for related topics and came across a bunch of different threads but couldn't find exactly what is going on or how to use it. When I shift with my 6MT, if I put the clutch in, upshift and then let the clutch out without any throttle, it automatically rev-matches? Is that true? Can anyone give me a better explanation or point me to a thread talking about it? I'm trying to learn how to smoothly shift (mostly notice it from 1-2 and 2-3 like the other people) and I've read in a few threads that one trick is to let the ECU automatically rev-match. Appreciate it if someone can shed more light on this for me. Thanks!

I've seen a couple of mentions of this too?
And maybe it is my imagination, but I seem to be able to shift smoother with the Stability Control off

the TL does rev match but it's more from a side effect of drive by wire system. since there is no traditional throttle cable that connects the pedal to the throttle body it is controlled electronically. when you are shifting up through the gears the ECU can control the throttle between shifts. so say you are in 1st gear and rev to 3K and then step off the gas to shift. the throttle will feather the rpm back to around 2K so it continues to burn gas in the cylinders. the exhaust emissions is therefore cleaner since there is going to be less unburnt gas coming out of the engine. so if you want the TL to help you rev match just wait about a sec after you lay off the gas and it will drop to the appropriate rpm. this only works for upshifts as when you downshift you have to raise the rpms.
